92% of people polled who watched the debate thought Bill Nye won.

BTW, Ken Ham thinks T-rex was a vegetarian because all creatures were vegetarians before Eve gave Adam the apple.

"Smears" is usually used with some other connotation.

I was looking in your posted article for where Nye badmouthed Ham.

it isn't hard to win a debate when the guy on the other side believes this

we can't prove history because no-one was there
the earth is 6000 years old because the bible told me so
the entire earth is flooded 4000 years ago and only a handful of animals survived on a massive boat the biggest wooden boat ever built.

Yeah, I was expecting him to have said something like, "Not only is the world greater than 6,000 years old, but Ken Ham's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandmother was a raging Neanderthal whore!"

Yes, Ken Ham didn't provide any evidence (how could he) whatsoever.

However, keep in mind this debate was live on Youtube...had it been on network tv, the results would've been a little different (but I still think Nye would've won, it just would've been closer).

Jesus Christ would take Ham to the woodshed. IMO, Ham does a disserve to the real Principles (Truth) of the Gospel he purports to serve.

I am an atheist and christians should hide no nothings like Ham. He did a really poor job, basically b.c he lacks critical reasoning skills.

Orthodox Christianity - for the most part - is in the same position as *Moderate* Islam...or *Moderate* Democrats. They know that their Ideological brethren are over the line...but they won't speak out and lend support to their Ideological opposition. Especially as the tenuous battle for cultural dominance is on the line.

'The enemy of my enemy is my friend'. There is a heavy price to pay for that strategy.

Ham don't lack the skills, Hawk; he simply rides a wave of status/power of the which he'd be a nobody, otherwise. That's my opinion; but I don't know the man's heart. Even so, 'the road to hell is paved with good intentions'. Think Authoritarian Socialism and Islam.

Beheading non-believers (Islam) is just a little bit worse than interpreting the bible literally (Christianity).

For sure, W; I'm the last to be an apologist for Muhammad's societal model.

I was drawing an analogy as it related to the relative position of both Muslims, Democrats and Christians. Neither want to dis a brethren, even if that brother is a Jimmy Swaggart...or a Bill Clinton. Or the con of all cons...Obama.

But I agree, Islam is in a class of it's own. Though Authoritarian Socialists did SYSTEMATICALLY wipe out over a HUNDRED MILLION of their own brethren in the last century. That's a high bar; and the reason a lot in the Tea Party will NEVER give up those guns. Like Michael Savage says..."Liberalism is a mental disorder"; if makes rational folk tolerate stuff they never would, if not infected and put on the spot.

I really liked Ken Ham's "having sharp teeth doesn't mean you're a meat-eater, it just means you have sharp teeth". Not his direct quote, I'm paraphrasing, but it's pretty close.

parody time:
"Having a long neck doesn't mean giraffes eat from the tree-top canopy. It just means they have a long neck."

"Piranhas having many sharp teeth in a razor fashion doesn't mean they're a meat eater, it just means they have sharp teeth"
