ETA: Just heard the news
I pass through there leaving the Starring Lane Motel every morning and still can't believe they haven't opened this road up.
It's been what? 4 years for this little patch of road?
And they have been basically DONE for months but are apparently to lazy to finish move the cones and paint stripes. What gives with this construction?

Is Barber Brothers doing the work? If so, then I'm not surprised. They've been working on O'Neal Lane for forever, took them forever to do Jones Creek and South Harrell's Ferry, and even longer than forever to four-lane Perkins Road back in the '80's. BTW, it's Staring, with one 'r.'
ETA: In the contractor's defense, concrete has to cure for several weeks before it's usable.

The Old Hammond project seemed like it went for a whole decade.

I seriously passed by there the other day and said I would dare myself to stay there one night. How is it?

Wait. So it's the lane where everyone constantly stares at you when you drive by?
:mind blown:

I would have to say Hwy 28 between Alexandria and Leesville is the longest.
Took them 10 years to 4-lane about 40 miles

If you drive down Staring daily it is easy to see why it took so long. Everytime they finish a section they have to go back and demo a portion of it to fix whatever they messed up. they also put all the manhole covers right in the tire line. give it a couple years and it will be bumpy as hell.

Hwy 73 in Prairieville is taking forever too. They've been at it for at least 3 years and are no where close to being done...and it;s only about 2 miles of road they are re-doing.

Is it still a 'pay by the hour' motel?
