I'm looking at getting my first handgun.

I'm gonna go with the Sig P226, I've been wanting my very own for a long while now.

Looking at the 9mm black 15rd 4.4 inch barrel - It's about $750 new (give or take a few bucks.

They have the same gun, but fixed with night sights for ~$832 here.

Should I be looking for something with night/better sights, or is that something I should customize myself when I get more into gun ownership?

Or should I just do the typical OB response and buy a couple of different kinds, you can never have enough guns.

TIA.

Might as well get it with the night sights. You'll be adding them later on anyways.

Going to the range for practice
Night Stand
Fun

It won't be a concealed carry gun, but I'm getting that in the near future.

Might as well get the night sights. If planning on home defense a tactical light would be a good idea for ID'ing your target

Sig 226 is a great gun. Been looking at them myself.

As for night sights I like them. I've heard a few arguments against them and I don't really agree with any of them. I've either ordered or added night sights to almost all of my handguns.

If you ever have to grab your gun in the middle of the night you'll be happy to have those night sights staring back at you.

When you point this out, you make it pretty clear. I agree with others that you will probably want them later anyway, so it would be a good idea to just go ahead and snag them. I also like to have a light mounted on my HD guns but that is up to your personal preference as some people aren't wild about them.

Badass screen name by the way. These pretzels are making me thirsty.

Check out different colors. I personally like the green up front and two amber/orange on the rear sight.

Unless you have a preference in night sights, go with the factory ones. Pretty much just free labor.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Plus with my current limited knowledge of how to change them it seems more cost, timeand labor effective.

I'm sure ill form a preference down the road.

Thanks all.

I had the same predicament with my CZ. I went with the night sights on them because they were cheaper than buying them and putting them on afterwards. I would have rather had contrasting colors but at least I can have a set while determining what kind I want later.

Also a fine choice in handgun.

I can't link the website while at work but look at slickguns and type in p226 tacpac. It is about 832 on buds and it comes with night sights and holster, light/laser combo and 2 mags....

eta: I think they went up on buds.

KYgunco has the 226 with night sights for 803 and 895 for tac pac
