relegation.

11th place stoke is only 3 points ahead of 18th place West Ham and on the lower end of the goal differential for the bottom half of the table.

This is absolutely crazy - and I expect a lot of movement in the zone throughout the next few months. Lots of competitive teams playing their hearts out. With a victory this weekend, Sunderland can go from dead last at Christmas to top half of the table for the second weekend in February.

So much more interesting than a Sixers-Bobcats game in April. Its one of the reasons I can watch any game in the league and not just my favorite team, like I do for most other sports now.

Largest gaps in the table

(10th)Aston Villa 8 points behind Southampton
(4th)Pool 6 points behind Chelsea
(7th)Man U 4 points behind Spurs
(8th) Newcastle 3 points behind Man U

All the rest are 2, 1 or 0 points
Last place Fulham are 6 points behind (11th)Stoke and 8 behind (10th)AV

The bottom half is very interesting.

The final match day is going to be insane in May. Title, UCL spots and relegation all possibly on the line. Last year only battle was for 4th place.

Can't fricking wait.

AMEN! Relegation makes European soccer leagues incredibly interesting. People complained about MNF and SNF games on ESPN and NBC that didn't matter. You would only be able to say that about a very small number of BPL games this year.

There is a whole lot of parity in the EPL right now in the bottom half of the table. Television deals provide clubs with more money to go buy quality players.

Yeah television deals in the other leagues are pretty skewed. Especially Spain, but I think they're trying to change that.
