I'm thinking about plunking down the money for a used Bad Boy Buggy XT or XTO ( LINK) for those who don't know what they are) and wanted some input.

I'm a duck hunter, no deer, and hunt both flooded timber and rice fields. However, I'm also looking for something to both do some trail riding in the Ozarks and put around the neighborhood on and the neighborhood at the lake, hence why I'm not dead set on a gas UTV. Dad has a two-bench Ranger, which is nice but extremely loud when just joyriding around the neighborhood/lake. Reason I ask for input is because I've done some digging and see an awful lot of bad experiences with BBB's, their reliability and going dead.

Anyone have any insight, experiences, recommendations, etc? Thanks for anything!

You don't want a BBB. Hills kick their arse.

It would work for that. My advice would be to take pop's Ranger to the mountains and by a golf cart to putt around on.

Get a gas Polaris or the like and just buy a used golf cart. They can be had for cheap. Normally, the batteries are bad or the motor is bad. Easy fixes, but that many batteries can get expensive

Only thing ours was good for was hunting rice fields and riding around the neighborhood. Diving up levees or hills drain the battery quick.

BBB suck in the woods, compared to a Ranger. I agree w/Balls. Use your Pop's in the woods, and if you just want something to putt putt around the neighborhood on flat ground with get a used golf cart (like the kind used on a golf course). They are much cheaper than BBB. Can find a used cart in good condition for $1000.

Nope on anything electric. Get a regular golf cart to put around the hood. WAY cheaper.

I have a bad boy. Amazing when deer hunting if terrain isn't to nasty. When terrain gets nasty it will still mud hog but you can literally watch the battery meter drain instantly.

If you duck hunt....I'd stay far away from BBB

Then you don't want the BBB.

My bad everyone, I probably should've added that my dad lives 5 hours away.

I threw in the fact he had a Ranger as sort of an aside that I like them from a gas UTV perspective.

Regardless, sounds like BBB is definitely not the way to go for hunting or trail riding.

Owned a Stealth for a few years while I was in a lease in MS. It was 2 wheel drive and would baha through the mud. However, the hills and mud drain the battery significantly. They are very cool and quite but the battery just did not last in rough terrain.

You think a four wheel drive would've made a difference? I hVe no hills to climb though.

if you run out of fuel in the woods, it is a lot easy to after a can of gas than electricity

Too many pro's of a utv when compared to the con's of the bad boy. Only place BBB will win out is the lack of noise. Its going to lose on most other aspects
