this is the true definition of a roller coaster team. they look so good at times and can play so stupidly at other times. they need to play to their strengths, press, extend the defense, run and play inside out when it's slowed down. so much talent on paper, just mind boggling execution and effort at times. once again poor foul shooting creeps up on them. bottom line, this team deserves whatever they get.

agreed, this team is such a roller coaster. when they are interested in playing they move the ball so fricking well and they play so intense on the press d. yet we refuse to press unless we are down late and this team can make some horrible mistakes and look bad. free throws cost us tonight

Bad coaching and inability to recruit top players will lead to these types of results... I realistically gave up about 4 years into Brady's tenure

Poor coaching down the stretch doesn't help. We got back in the game by pressing. Once we took the lead, we backed off and played conservative. Same shite at Ole Miss when we started running clock with 3 minutes left with a lead.

Frustrating as hell.

Only thing I would add is "MFing turnovers!!!"

The guards do not attack enough to draw fouls or set O'Bryant up for easy dunks. Just pitiful to watch Hickey and Stringer Bell.

The idea is that no team can play a full game, or even long stretches, with that intensity. You saw how gassed Coleman got. Some teams in history have developed that style and sustain it, but very few. Basically you press like that for stretches to attempt to get back in the game when you are behind. If you succeed, you back off and reserve some energy for the offensive side.

Its not necessarily bad coaching. Its his scheme.

How did that work out for us?

I agree. It makes them playing like crap at times much worse. It's like "dude, we know what y'all can do!"

I would say it worked out fine. They got back in the game with a chance to win at the end. You can't blame Jones for players bonehead TO's like dribbling into double teams and such.

Discipline in every facet of the game is something this team lacks

-the completely wide open 3's for bama lost this game
-the poor FT shooting lost this game
-short arse guards that can't do anything besides swing the ball around the outside lost this game
-stupid turnovers lost this game

that is where our bench comes in. They aren't great but when you have a team on the verge of collapsing the bench players can be better than usual.

Obviously it didnt go well tonight. But you cant sustain the press with the lead. You can give up easy buckets quickly, get your players in foul trouble, and wear players out.

Tou have to mix to press in and out. It served its purpose tonight. But the team couldnt get it done in the halfcourt on the road.

Don't tell me this team couldn't sustain another 3 minutes of pressing. That's bullshite.

Seems you're the fool, brah. LSU's problems are much more than Jones coaching idiot.
