3 options
-401k
-roth 401k
Company matches 6% if we only put 3%
-employee stock purchase
We are allowed to purchase at 15% below fair market price.
Advice on how to split that 20% amongst these 3?

so you're saying you pay 3%, your company doubles that? that's a really good deal but I don't understand the logic behind it

Companies often match contributions to a 401k. Not that uncommon now that they have gotten rid of most types of defined benifit plans.
ETA: My company matches 5 or 6%. I put in 5 or 6, and they double my contribution down.

Chevy,
What do you expect for income in 2014?

Is 6% the cap on this deal?

So you contribute 3k, and they will contribute 6k?
This is your number one priority if so. Any match for that matter, really.
I believe the employer contributions must go into a traditional 401k and you have the option to contribute to the Roth 401k. I'd do it that way and then go after a Roth IRA, which was not listed.

What is the most you can put into your ESPP? My company limit is 10% and my wife's is 15%. We max those out, and I try to keep our net cash flow after taxes as close to 0 as possible. You will need to make sure you understand the tax rules for the ESPP.

Sorry took so long to respond.
401K works out where I get 3% from the company whether or not I put anything. If I put 3% they add another 3%. So say I make $50000 they put $1500 which is 3%. If I put 3% or $1500 they give another 3% so I contribute $1500 and get $3000 from my company.

Yes they will only match up to 6% as far as company contributions.

The max is 10% for ESPP.

I was thinking put my 3% into the Roth 401K.
Company 6% go into the traditional 401K.
Max out at 10% in the ESPP.
Contribute $100 a month to a Roth IRA. Max out Roth at the end of the yr when I receive my bonus.
