So they're back up to even before the cuts.

Must be false because Jindal hates higher education.

Not even close. They're just 6% higher than what they are now. Some Universities' funding was cut by close to 60%.

Some universities just need to be shut down.

Louisiana was one of only seven states bucking the trend, however, by slashing state funding for higher education by 17.6 percent in the fiscal year that began in July. The most recent cuts were the most drastic in the nation, the data showed, with West Virginia coming in a distant second at 8.9 percent in cuts.

Give it up now and save yourself the headache. People on here will never realize just how fricked up Jindal is. He has done some great things, but in the end, he's really just like every other governor we've ever had.

And some should be consolidated.

And any 2 year schools that are currently in the same system as 4 year schools should be moved the the community college system, LSUE for example.

Except that LA went from dead last to one of the best in ethics.

He's actually trying to do something about our fricked up public schools

He's attracted A LOT of business to LA. More people employed now than ever before

We've been educating people at the 4-year level who should be receiving training and education at the 2-year technical levels to match with the jobs available in this state.

But somehow cutting funding to the 4-years to levels that were still above most of our peers is "catastrophic"

We need to change our state constitution badly. Higher Ed and health care being the only two places where funding can be cut is absurd.

The irony behind that is the fact that the constitution was passed under EWE's time in office, and yet some of the same people who bash Jindal will still vote for Edwin in a heartbeat. It's confusing.

That's a joke, if true. Ethics board is more slanted and inconsistent than it ever has been before. It's an arm of the Governor's office and is used as part of a spoils system where obedient politicians get a free pass and those who rock the boat are investigated.

I personally know somebody who uncovered a state legislator extorting a municipal entity into buying his property and when a complaint was made to the board of ethics, the board put a gag order on him and threatened to go after the whistleblower and to get his mother fired. Needless to say, it was not investigated but when election time came the ethics board launched two investigations on family of his opponent.
