You can have one source of news. What is it?

And why?

I pick The Young Turks. They report lots of stuff since they're their own network on YouTube, and even though their views are liberal/progressive, they do a pretty good job of reporting, then commenting rather than reporting while commentating.

Cenk Uygur is a cool dude, too. Can't think of many other mainstream media people I'd rather hang with.

Drudge is a good choice. The main thing is that he doesn't do anything original; it's mainly links to things. You aren't really picking just one source when you pick Drudge, but I definitely get the pick.

Tiger Droppings. I'm serious.

The posters here are all over the political spectrum and bring interesting, important and current topics to this site on just about an hourly basis and w/ links to back up their posts.

Most news outlets have a bias as to which stories they will report. Not here.

Someone who just gives the story, not their biased opinion on it or tells you what to think. Just the story so you can figure out for yourself if this is bad or good. Like nightly news use to be. These are the facts right here, no statistics that are skewered to the left or right. We all know every story can be skewered with crazy, irrelevant stats, that although may have an inkling of truth in it, doesn't have all the truth in it.

It wouldn't be an of the mainstream US cable networks. Al Jazeera English/America and The Christian Science Monitors websites are a pretty good sources for news. I used to think these website were promoting some sort of religious agenda from the way big cable news networks depicted them. I would flip a coin between those two sources to be my only media network.

I'd go with the Circa app that I have on my phone. I can get all of the highlights in 5 minutes of reading.

After that, I'd go with the New York Times or the BBC.

The Economist

Covers the whole world, plus business and technology. Pretty well-balanced.

I use this place as a primary news filter, it sorts out what is bizarre, happening, interesting, etc, but it isn't a news source (that adds any significant content) or unbiased (that is absurd).

It is more like a room full of monkeys throwing shite around than others made than playing with their own droppings.

Yep. Critiques with Links to back it up.

For TV...it's Fox News. The CIVIC DUTY of a free press is to CRITICIZE them in (Government) power. Especially them that desire MORE GOVERNMENT POWER; which would be the Dem/Lib/Progressive/Socialist/Authoritarian Party. Fox is the ONLY one that does that. A Progressive Lib will never do critical harm to their own...just like Muslims seldom slam Fundamentalist Muslims; because they agree with the 'ends'...and tacitly, the 'means'.

I don't consider Drudge a news source. It's links to news sources.

I would go with WSJ.

I'm going to go with CBS news. I've got too much shite to worry about to be distracted w the 24 hour news cycle. They are a little more honest vs FOX and they have Mark Knoller and Sheryl Atkinsson (sp)? Who was big on Bhenghazi and the Feds hacked into her computer.

I can basically only handle 30 minutes of news and its the fairest source I know of.

CNN has turned to shite and MSNBC is state news
