Getting all fancied up tonight and want to go have a drink, maybe an app or two, just wondering if there were any upscale places for such.

Was just thinking of walking into Diamond Grill with no reservations and heading up to the bar. That legit?

I remember the drinks being good at Bellinos, so that's an option if the former is a no go.

Anywhere else?

I figured it'd have to be a restaurant, I just don't know if they're any new ones to consider. Tuxedo and full length gown attire.

Bayview is the only legit answer here

ETA: or the car wash bar obviously

seriously though... tux and gown? where is the function before hand? tux and gown is way too fancy for anywhere in Alex. maybe try the bistro out by the air base. other than that you are SOL brotha

The event is after. You don't think the Diamond Grill would accommodate? You saying it's just not that nice?

Boyce? I grew up on Kincaid lake and the mailing address was Boyce, I don't even know where 'Boyce' is.

We went there Friday.

Boyce is that place on HWY 1 N just before Cleco Lake. Interstate dried it up a bit. Janohn's is pretty good, but not a place you just show up at.

If you're passing the Boyce area near meal time, stop in Boyce and go to Uncle Albert's for some of the best fried chicken around. It's a great pit stop on a trip. I don't know that I'd eat in, but I've been through the drive up to get chicken once and I plan to go back. I had the spicy chicken and some dirty rice. Fine meal and so much better than Popeye's. This chicken crust is more like your grandmother used to make. Very crispy and not thick so no uncooked pasty areas. I think it's exit 98 and you get off and just keep driving about a mile, maybe, until you see it on the left on what I assume is the main drag of Boyce.

Diamond Grill would be perfect for that. Also, Bistro on the Bayou, but DG is closer to where all the balls are held. Bellino's Bar is OK, and has some giant frozen fishbowls of beer.

There were a good number of tuxedo clad folk in Spirit's Bar last Saturday.
