Just went to lunch witha vendor and felt like a fricking idiot when he asked me what I for fun. I don't fish or hunt. I enjoy hanging out with friends and family, messing around in the yard, traveling, etc.

"Uhhh, well I just had a baby so just hang around the house really"

Those sound dangerously close to hobbies.

It's not uncommon for people to have no hobbies. It's nothing to feel bad about.

Traveling and working in the yard is a hobby. Anything you do that isn't work.

I think that's called being an exhibitionist.

Sure. Nothing to feel bad about because you're part of a majority.

Still doesn't mean you don't live a sad life. Who the hell doesn't have any hobbies?

And being a spectator of entertainment can be a hobby especially if you're so into it that you spend time on a message board solely dedicated to that team or sport.

I'm kind of the same way. I don't exactly feel normal when I tell them my biggest hobby is playing fantasy sports.

It's a gotcha questions. Everyone has "hobbies" (well most everyone) but I think people feel the way you do if you don't have a carefully crafted response like "work on old cars, hunt, model airplanes" or some other shite.

People don't want to say seeing friends, going to games, cooking, etc because they don't fit in a nice little box.

Same here.

I've noticed some people's only hobby is watching football on the weekend. How sad.

Let me back up. This guy is from Baton Rouge and when I told him I grew up in Lake Charles, he said "oh you must have done a lot of fishing."

"No, not really"

No. Traveling is something nearly everyone would do given the opportunity. Yard work is an obligation. Neither are hobbies. This guy is just boring as shite.
