Anyone still drive a beater car?

Look I still drive the same car(2001 Honda Accord) I bought in high school when I turned 16 almost 10 years ago...
It's not that I don't make enough money to get a new car, its the fact I don't believe in tying my income to an asset that depreciates in value so much. I owe nothing on my car and it gets me from point A to point B, drives like a champ and never has had any problems, cheap to maintain, so why spend money on a new car I don't really need. Frees up my budget for other things.
I laugh at the people who start at the entry level positions at my office making $30k a year who seem to lease or finance a car well out of their means, such as a BMW or something, spending 25% of their monthly income on an expensive vehicle. New cars pop up in the parking lot every day.
One thing I learned from my dad... just because you drive a BMW or Mercedes doesn't mean you are rich or doing well. Some fool could be rolling around in a BMW making $30k a year, spending 50% of his income on the monthly BMW payment and in a lot of debt just to impress people.
Now I await the OT ballers to come in and brag about how many cars they own.

I drive a car over 10 years old. Paid for. Wife too.
Car notes are for suckers. I'm writing a check for a new one (used, but new to me) when these die.

we drove a '94 accord in my family til last year.
It still ran perfectly fine, we just didn't need it anymore and my mom had a perfectly good '08 rx350 in the garage that she only drove 2-3 days of the week.
I got my car brand new as a senior in high school and I plan on driving it into the grave.
ETA: the kid we sold it to was a senior in high school and I see the car around all the time. it still runs fine, but of course the paint got jacked up over the years

Naw. Driving a beater is pretty frat. Provided the vehicle is frat in the first place.

I drove my 2001 Maxima for 11 years before buying my brand new Jeep. It was nice not having a car payment for several years.
I had been lusting after a Jeep for a long time and finally just did it. I plan on driving the Jeep for a long time as well though. We actually still have the Maxima as a third vehicle for us and plan to keep it until it starts having any major engine issues(then we'll donate it).

I drive a 98 Expedition. My grandfather owns it and pays the insurance on it. He has 7 cars and does not need this one. I do any and all repairs myself. I can easily afford a nice new car, but I have a company car that I drive 90% of the time, so why bother. For me, buying a new car would be dumb and a significant increase in cost.

Until next month we have been since 2007 without a car note. I finally broke down an bought Mrs. Pimp an OT ball-ette car. I'm driving my SUV until it dies. It has about 300k now.

Not sure how popular Dave Ramsey is on this board full of OT ballers but I heard 2 quotes from him that make sense
"Poor people ask how much down and how much per month, rich people ask how much"
"Wealthy people drive used cars, not new cars. Why? Because wealthy people get rich by not spending their capital on an asset that depreciates in value"

I drive them till the ac quits working. Then I take mrs. LT's unit and get her a new one.
It's how pops did it, it's how I do it

I read The Millionaire Next Door when I was 19. Ramsey wasn't really popular at that point, but a lot of what that book talks about Ramsey echoes.
My parents are OT rich, I'm not yet, but they don't even buy new. Both drive certified used Lexus, and wrote checks for them.
I've never contemplated life with a car note.

Yeah, you don't get rich by buying cars.
I'm in the market for a beater myself.
