How do you work out and not get swole?

come from a family of Offensive linemen (2 Georgia tech, 1 Colombia, 1 Army)
everytime I start to work out my arms get huge like some dumbfrick jersey shore roider, and I start to puff up.
I tried dropping weight to like a 100 lbs bench and doing sets of 60 or so(get tired of counting) til I'm struggling with 100lbs as I want the definition and long muscle tissue(does that theory still exist) of a basketball player, swimmer, rockclimber.
should do any of the weight lifting at all if I don't want to swell, and just stick to cardio crap...that just hurts the joints...or will the many rep baby weights work?

It's partly genetics and there's little you can do about that.

I have a bad knee and can't run anymore so I do the LA Boxing / UFC gym boxing workouts. Believe it or not it's less stress on my legs than other cardio. I lost a good deal of weight.

get a punching bag that looks like a woman. you'll dominate in no time

quit with the weights. and quit benching in the first place. do reps of pull ups, push ups, and sit ups. start doing a lot of interval running. 3 or 4 miles/day, alternate .25mi strong run (6 min mile pace) and then .25mi jog. quit eating so much.

If you can't run then bike. Quit lifting, you don't need it and it does you no favors.
