I've spent a lot of today and yesterday going through the screenings that were released, and as for most of the critically acclaimed films, I believe I've seen them (although I'm sure there are some jewels I'm missing that aren't getting recognized). So here are my Top 10 films for this year:

1) Gravity
2) Her
3) The World's End
4) American Hustle
5) The Wolf of Wall Street
6) Frozen
7) 12 Years a Slave
8) Mud
9) The Desolation of Smaug
10) Rush

Overall, it was a bit of a down year, especially compared to last year, but it wasn't bad. Towards the end, some really good movies started to come, and that was great.

So tell me your Top 10, and let's keep this thread up through Oscar season, since I'm sure many of you haven't seen all the films you want to see before the Oscars.

No top 10 for me as I haven't seen that many but I'd rank the ones I have seen like this:

12 Years A Slave
Lone Survivor
Mud
Wolf of Wall St
American Hustle

How did you watch it? I really hope it wasn't in 2D.

Well, you're wrong. It's one of the most brilliant comedies of this century, but I guess it went completely over your head.

Agreed. It was just dumb. Like it would've been a fine if they would've just shown them going to all 12 pubs and drinking and showing them getting into all kinds of trouble, but no you had to have some alien bullshite.

Of the ones I've seen in theater

1) 12 Years a Slave
2) Dallas Buyers Club
3) Wolf of Wall Street
4) Nebraska
5) Mud (though could be counted as 2012)
6) The Way, Way Back
7) Lone Survivor
8) Place Beyond the Pines
9) This is the End

Still need to see American Hustle, Inside Llewyn Davis and Her, the last of which I expect to finish in my top 3
