Probably coach but I wouldn't mind upgraded seating for the long segment(s).
I'm not too worried about the flight experience. This trip will be all about what happens on the ground. A photo safari has been something that I've wanted to do for a long time.
I also want to swim in the Devil's Pool.

when does the 3 month technically start? hoping i can put most of the holiday expenses on it, so would like it to go through the year

I would check in to seeing if some of the oil country airlines like Emirates or Qatar. They have some really nice premium class seating.

Ditto, but there's a few more on the list ahead of it, but Devil's pool looks incredible. Make sure to update your life insurance policy before you leave.

Approval date. You can always buy gas, amazon, gift cards etc to use in the future if you're close.

The Points Guy ranks it behind the Platinum (and both of those behind the Citi Prestige). But you can read his writeup and decide on your own. I don't have one.

British airways flies Johannesburg to Victoria Falls so if Krueger is a park you're interested in then you may be able to use Avios for that short haul.
I will say this, I researched safari and Victoria Falls pretty extensively and if you safari somewhere else other than Krueger (Serengeti or Botswana) your air options are essentially zero. Getting from Tanzania to VF is like a full day for instance, in which case I'd just do Zanzibar; basically a trip you aren't looking for.

Nice. All I got right now is Southwest coming at me for 50k points for the 5th time. I need to see if Chase will allow me to partake in one more card.

It's pretty sad that I got so excited about the offer. I told my wife that it was one of their best offers for the card with a bit of enthusiasm. "Great. We need more credit cards".

no the fiancée has one. I just have 5 Chase cards (3 personal, 2 biz) and Southwest keeps begging me for their card. I put it on a delay as I didn't want to get too greedy but my last Chase app was biz in May and last personal was United in February I think. We have a wedding in Fort Lauderdale in May that would be perfect for it so I'm timing it.
