Why can't they re-sod places like Lambeau Field for the playoffs?

They do it for Bowl Games, so why can't they do it for NFL?
That field looks like shite.

Because it would be worse if they did that. The field is not in that bad of shape given the conditions

It's tradition. Let's make it look and play like garbage and then feel proud about it.

New sod will not take in 3 degree temperatures. It would look like the Cap One Bowl in 2009-10.

You can't re-sod on a frozen field. The roots won't establish themselves firmly and would become a hazard to the players.

All fields should be field turf in the pros. They can heat it and make it non slip. The NFL makes too much money to play on crap fields.

Okay, that's what I though, but was not 100% sure.

New sod doesn't always have to take. For the BCS championship, they overlay thick cut sod on top of the existing sod. The thickness ensures it will not move around.

It would be like laying down alot of runner rugs. The players would kill themselves. Roots will not establish themselves in freezing temps. The plant goes dormant.

Yeah the sod wont take in this weather. And it takes longer than a week to let it take too.
And where would they get the sod from?? Every piece of grass in the northern parts of the US looks like that.

It's at least holding up. Way back when TN used to go to the playoffs their field was sh#t by this time. Music City Bowl didn't help.

I would assume they would ship it from the south via 18 wheelers?
Or build a huge greenhouse to grow an alternative field.

What does it matter??? This is great football... The way football was meant to be played... Doesn't look like it has affected the game play.........

Not necessarily. You'd be surprised how green some cool season grasses can stay throughout the winter.

There's nothing wrong with the field. You're mad because it isnt pretty enough you? Go watch lifetime you fairy.

The field actually seems pretty good to me. Maybe not it's color, but how it's playing (which is what actually matters). I'll be stunned if there aren't more guys slipping tomorrow night than in this game.
