Why didn't fans travel to Outback?

Reading articles stating only 6000 LSU tickets were sold?

Why did the Lsu faithful pull a "No Show"?

Tampa is a great city and the Outback Bowl is a higher ranked bowl,

Was it the match up? Iowa?
Maybe LSU vs Michigan or Nebraska would have been better?

Was it because we fans are spoiled and only expect BCS or NC?

Regardless, 6000 fans is embarrassing for a Top SEC team for any game.

Thanks for any feedback.

Just curious. Were you there? Do you have friends who didn't go? What were their/your reasons?

I would have done it for the free shrimp, but not for a stinkin' onion.

3 losses.
Doesn't stimulate this fanbase anymore.

I literally know no one that went.

Not that I would have gone anyway. But personally I wouldn't want to spend nye in a city like Tampa for an inconsequential football game, when I have Nola instead.

It appeared there were a number of LSU fans seated outside of the ticket areas distributed by the LSU Athletic Dept. LSU fans could be easily distinguished from Iowa fans when LSU's defense made big time stops on 3rd downs. Can you guess how? (hint: not by clothing)

Weak matchup and I think overall Miles has put a damper on things by losing to teams like ole miss and almost losing to ark

Instead of saving money with LSU playing TCU at home, I spent my bowl money in Dallas this year. Maybe Alleva should keep LSU home games in Tiger Stadium.

I had some friends go but bought tickets on stubhub or some other ticket sale. I'm sure LSU showed more than 6000

which other team "like Ole Miss" did Miles lose to?

People decide not to attend a bowl game because LSU ALMOST lost a game to Arkansas?

Being in the middle of a work week was the deal breaker for me. I would have loved to spend the weekend in St. Petersburg.

TV has made it to easy to stay home.

This.

I'll spend my "bowl money" in Houston next season, most likely.

And this. Just had off a day or two for Christmas. This isn't Europe. Can't expect to have days off whenever you like.

To be honest it was the game day. Wednesday and I would have to take too much time off work. People do have to work. The Cotton bowls were on Fridays or closer to the weekend. It worked. The prices were reasonable this year, but not convenient.

Also, look at the Gator Bowl game and it was mostly a home game for Georgia.

I think there's thousands of LSU fans that would like to be there. It's expensive and a big commitment. No, I didn't go.

We end up in a BCS or NCG, people risk credit card debt just to be there. We are spoiled, but it's also expensive to travel.

Just my two cents.....

LSU fans travel a lot better than most schools.
