Regardless, 6000 fans is embarrassing for a Top SEC team for any game.

How many of those 6,000 left at halftime?

The only bowl game I have seen with anywhere close to a full house this year is the Rose Bowl. Gator Bowl was more than half empty.

I was in the stadium and our lack of fans were embaressing. As a national power, our fans look like sore losers when we aren't in a nc game

But personally I wouldn't want to spend nye in a city like Tampa for an inconsequential football game,
Tamp/St Pete area is a pretty fun place to go. I can go to NOLA everyday if I want.

I went, but I understand why people wouldn't want to go. It's tough to get up for games like this when we were in the title game 2 years ago. This was iowa's best bowl game in the last few seasons. I'm just happy we pulled out a W.

I am here. Having a great time. The rain today sucks though. There were actually more LSU fans at the game than I expected. We were out numbered by a lot, but we represented just fine.

Work prevented me from going. My brother-in-law took his family and I had some other friends go.

I wouldn't have gone if I had all expenses paid.
I hate the minor bowls, they are meaningless exhibitions. I want to see them dissolve and they will dissolve within 10 years when the playoffs go to 8 teams. There won't be any empty seats for the playoff games. And there will be millions more eyes on their TV sets.

Only one reason for me...it was the Outback Bowl.

It's the first LSU bowl game I've missed in over a decade. They passed on previous opportunities to select us...so I passed on the opportunity to give them my money.

I'm actually glad to see so many empty seats at MANY bowls this year. There are TOO MANY bowl games and television contracts (greed) are killing college football traditions.

Those who don't routinely attend games probably don't feel it but the gameday experience has taken a beating thanks to television. It's tough to stay excited when there are tv stoppages every few seconds. It's getting easier to just stay home.

Minor bowls?
Really?
The Outback is one of the highest paying non BCS out there. You really are gonna tell me this game was meaningless to our seniors? Meaningless when we bring home $3,400,000? A meaningless game to these highly touted recruits?

I think it was mainly the opponent. I don't know a single person who was excited for this game.

I went. I live in Tampa. It was a terrible show casting of LSU fans. However I understand why. Tampa didn't promote it well and it was a poor experience. Unless its a BCS, I ain't paying 114$ a seat again. Besides Jeremy Hill, this team didn't care if we won or lost. Good bye Anthony Johnson (your a joke) hope you do something in the NFL. Tyrann Mathieu said it best, players really don't care about the bowl games.

I would've gone to the Gator Bowl versus Nebraska.

I think it's more to do with the season opener that's like a bowl game...there is a level of fatigue in the fan base that needs to be taken into consideration...

and the clusterfrick that LSU gameday has become with parking adds to the fatigue factor...

Iowa (yawn)

That, and the fact that the LSU football team didn't hardly show up for some of their games this season. It's about time we beat Bama, and quit playing close games with lesser teams.
