Rented on iTunes. Really showcases the simplicity of well done Edomae style sushi. Makes me want to go there but as I understand it, getting a reservation is close to impossible.

I thought it was a bit sad. The guy has absolutely nothing in his life outside of his restaurant.

But in terms of displaying complete dedication and inspiring me to try a sushi join in Japan, it was great.

So I wasn't the only one thinking that. But still he appears to be happy.

He's got his son to berate, so to say he's got NOTHING is a bit of an stretch.

Still, his son looked like he was a master and the old man looked like he was a god. I wouldn't mind paying the hundreds of dollars it costs to have Jiro serve me perfect sushi.

Completely disagree.

This is his dream job/life. I don't think he has any regrets

Need to watch this.

In an related story, Pete Wells just reviewed (last week's NYT) a sushi restaurant operated by one of the cooks in Jiro. I want to say it is the guy who cries after finally being told by Jiro his egg custard is good enough.

So if you find yoself in NYC, look it up.
