Just to be different and throw in one that doesn't make everybody's published list -- BDX.

Boomers gettin' old, going to the doctor, getting blood drawn. BD sells the blood drawing consumables (among a lot of other medical supplies and equipment).

Considering IBM as well. Broker recommends Chevron before IBM though. Both are great

When it comes to buying blue chips, buying those that are out of favor are worth a look. IBM is near its 52 week low and the management team is making changes.

If that is true, then T is the play. Best dividend on the Dow.

Instead of guessing on any individual stock, why not get a blue chip growth mutual fund?

I currently have Fidelity's version in my 401K and ytd performance is a stellar 33% gain.

Not sure if T is the play but it is worth a look. It is only 10% from it's 52 week high whereas IBM is almost 20% at current prices.

What I also like about IBM is that it seems to be backstopped in the low 170s range and management doesn't seem to be complacent. And it doesn't hurt that this is one of Buffet's favorites.
