Haven't played yet but plan to soon. How does it compare to the arma 2 mod and etc? Worth 30 bucks?

With all that's wrong with it at the moment, I'm still enjoying it. Any other game at this stage I probably would've deleted.

I wasn't sure if you actually liked it or not.

I'm not satisfied. With how much time they have had to work on it and the major bugs they have right now, they should be further along. This is not a new game, this a mod that is still based on ARMA 2 that has it's own launcher. Dean has been way too focused on little asinine details that should of come after you got the basic game going and working great.

It's going to get hacked, it's only a matter of time.

The server owner stuff pisses me off a bunch too and that bias effects me game wise. They are setting themselves up nicely for a money making scheme on server owners while screwing over the people that have made sure the mod has kept regulars and been active while they have been jacking off to each other and climbing Everest instead of getting Standalone out.

I'm not sure if I do either, but I keep logging in for some reason, so there's that. The night-time servers are frustrating.

Night is by far my favorite. It is such a huge advantage to me at least.

I am sure you know to max out your brightness and gamma, but the big thing to change is clouds. Try either disabling or enabling clouds. I haven't figured out if it is based on time or weather, but to get a huge change in what you see, sometimes you need to change if they are disabled or enabled. If you are set on the right setting, it's like playing in black and white. If you are on the wrong one, it is dark. Don't stay on just enabled or disabled, try both. One will be a lot brighter than the other.

I haven't figured out when you need enabled or disabled though. I haven't read reddit enough to see if they figured out when to swap, but you do need to swap between them soemtimes to get the best field of view. I never carry a flashlight any longer. I don't need it.

Wish games didn't allow you to change outside setting to get around the game mechanics like that

Most of their time has been spent reworking the architecture, not features.

i watched a guy on twitch play it, and bought it, but my computer isnt fast enough to run. i fired it up, graphics were horrible and he went .000001 mph when walking. It was like i was in slow motion and on serious downers.

have to look into upgrading or buying a new one. Since i have no clue how to put a good system together might have to over pay for a good gaming system.

Sounds like you haven't played enough to really learn how to things work. I had the same feelings the first and second night. Now, everything works the way it's supposed to, except for the mechanics being a little wonky from time to time.

It's funny, I turned all kinds of shite waaay down, just to get 40-50fps at 1440p. I decided to experiment and turned everything up except AA, and it's 30-35fps, and not really any better or worse as far as playability.
