If they hire Malzahn, they are just idiots. Guy has the potential to be a great college coach and is well on his way, but at least Chip Kelly had proven himself for 4 or so years as a FBS HC before Philly hired him.

People lauding Sumlin cracks me up. The guy is a good coach but is getting quite a bit of praise for JFF's success an 11-2 season last year.

Sumlin's buyout is nuts. No fear.

A list and $5 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks, but those two guys aren't going anywhere.
Those clowns don't have any idea who Texas is interested in nor who they are going to hire.

Would Sumlin take Manziel #1 overall if hired? Or does he go with Bridgewater?

Obviouly I am an Aggie fan but the rumors around Sumlin seem kind of out there. Last time I checked the Ags defense was ranked something like #102.

Has any major school ever went out and hired a head coach and made them one of the highest paid coaches in college football with a defense like that? His D wasn't very good at all at UH and Ags D was/is awful.

There hve to be some questions regarding Sumlin's ability to field a good D. IF Texas is really looking at Sumlin then they have been rejected by 4 or 5 coaches that we don't know about.

My opinion anyway.

If GusBus wins as 10 pt dog to FSU, what else is there to accomplish in NCAA as an HC?

Take the NFL money, go pull a Jimmy Johnson in winning NCAA & SuperBowl. I don't count Switzer's crossover crown..as Jerry fixed him up with All-Star 1990s Cowboys..too easy..didn't build anything.

That is the key. Sumlin is a great offensive coach, but has not really shown the ability to field a team that is championship level. A&M faced three legit top teams last year in the regular season and was 1-2 against them.

This season, they lost to all 4 teams they played that finished the season ranked. 0-4 versus ranked teams. They finished last season 1-2 versus ranked opponents prior to the bowls. Let's say they win their bowl this year.

They'll have beaten at most 3 ranked teams in two years and lost to 6. Sumlin took over a pretty good team, but in the end, his success this year is what is likely to happen on a yearly basis, 9-3 averages.

Is that supposed to make us sad or something?

Because I gotta tell you, after the 2000's where we peaked at nine wins, averaging nine wins sounds nice.

of the two coaches in the NC game, Fisher would probably make the better NFL HC... his style of offense would probably work there.

Gus is not the High School fool that the TD Rantards or TideFans morons would have you believe.

His offense would work in the NFL.

That being said, I don't believe Gus is leaving for the NFL anytime soon nor do I believe he is on the Texans list.
