(CNN) -- Spies with surveillance agencies in the United States and United Kingdom may have spent time undercover as orcs and blood elves, infiltrating video games like "World of Warcraft" in a hunt for terrorists "hiding in plain sight" online.
That's the finding of the most recent round of documents released by National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden to British newspaper The Guardian.

I'd imagine this was some super nerdy NSA employee's way to get paid to play WoW while on the clock.

But apparently so many agents were engaged in playing video games for national security that a "deconfliction" group was created to make sure government agents weren't accidentally spying on each other.

Must be nice to not have to look over your shoulder at work bc your screwing around at the office. Instead, you see your boss log into game and gchat goes quiet...

I remember this same story from years ago, ~2005-2006, only with the FBI. Internet privacy wasn't a trendy topic at that time, though.

Ah the good ol' days. Where we all wanted them to just nuke the Barrens. And they pretty much did with the expansions.

We'll always have the memories of 24/7 horrible chuck norris jokes.

When I would fly through there on a flight path as soon as I zoned in, if I didn't see a chuck Norris joke within like the first 15 or so seconds, I'd just simply type "chuck Norris" and before I was out of the zone the chat window would be full.

Yes, I was that bastard instigating guy.
