Lets ask ourselves, Michigan State is sitting at 12-1, a conference champion. If their quarterback Connor Cook posted the same numbers as AJ (he's only 6 touchdowns and 200 yards behind), would he get an invite? I think we all know the answer is no.

Look at Bryce Petty, Baylor's QB for example.

Oh, I understand completely. I did not mean to paint you in that picture.

I just think he got the invite because he's Alabama's quarterback.
I agree, for mainly winning...when Alabama is known for winning by strong defensive performances and a powerful running game.

It is what it is. He got invited for basically being the driver for what was a machine during his time of quarterback there. This also got Greg McElroy minor Heisman exposure during 2010 when he still had not lost a game since high-school as a starting quarterback (good God, was that annoying).

Identical record to Alabama, playing in a BCS bowl and Petty's numbers exceed McCarron's.

Alabama's quarterback of next year.

Could be Jacob Coker if he leaves FSU and is fully healthy.

ETA: I think he's suppose to graduate this month and will be able to transfer freely

he does his job extremely well. it's just that the job saban gives him isn't to put up gaudy numbers. it's to be smart, don't turn the ball over, and feed off your running game.

And THIS should mean something compared to awesome stats. Just saying.......... AU could still be there without Mason. Bama would not. A & M would Not, and FSU would not.

I would say Alabama likely wouldn't have got to 11-1 without his experience.

auburn could. you don't know that. auburn could also suck without him. you don't know that.

being a QB with under 2,500 yards on an 11-1 team shouldn't get you a heisman and he won't win it.

2,676, but still

He should NOT win it. But to say he doesn't belong there is STUPID. Most on here don't know how this [SO-CALLED] award works......... Its a media award.... And name me the last winner to do shite in the pros??????????

he doesn't belong there.

if you agree that he should not win it, then why should he be a finalist for an award he SHOULD NOT win. if he's not deserving of the award, he's not deserving of being considered a finalist for the award.

Reggie bush is doing well. cam newton is doing well.

AJ McCarron getting invited is as bad as them giving Te'o all those awards that he didn't even deserve. I mean, a fricking lineman award?

They got him the invite to give him a big thank you for his career and being a good rep for CFB. Not one voter other than maybe Mark Ingram really thinks he is Heisman worthy based on stats. Let the guy have his moment, he deserves it.

He does not deserve it, and that is bullshite. Karey, Devante Adams, Derek Carr, the TE Jace Amaro put up Jimmy Graham numbers is more deserving this year than McCarron. This isn't a Lifetime Movie Network Achievement Award.

any decent qb would have success on alabama's team.

aj is nothing special. he's not bad but he's not great either..

i now see why you get so much sarcastic criticism around here..
