I saw his appearance on The Big Bang Theory last season and it was absolutely gold. After watching his appearance on this season it was even better. It inspired me to go look up some of his old shows and they were fantastic. His presence in a scene is uncanny. Its the most natural, pure comedy I have ever seen. Anyone else has thoughts?

He's a bit overrated but he has his moments.

There was a Ramond compilation program showing the best of Frank, Marie, etc. with some famous people commenting. Bob told a story where his wife said she had a dream that he was flirting and dancing with another woman. Bob said, "yeah, but it was just a dream", to which his wife said "but that's just the sort of thing you'd do". The deadpan look on his face, coupled with the likelihood a woman would make such a ridicuous statement, was priceless.

No, he's not. But he has a great wry delivery and is an icon.

These other trolls would think David Spade is funnier than Eddie Murphy.

The last scene for the series ending episode on the second Newhart show was brilliant.

He's fricking fantastic!

The Bob Newhart Show (circa 1970s) was great. Newhart (80s-90s), speaks for itself.

His standup is awesome (especially his telephone calls).

And, if you really want to see some hilarious shite, pull up some of his Carson appearances (esp. with Don Rickles [his best friend]).

If he is not, the list a head of him is very short.

Love Rickles. I often find myself going and watching the old Dean Martin roasts. THAT was comedy.

Good grief. No. Not in the same league with Johnathan Winters just for starters.

No one has played "Hi Bob?"

Watch his reruns and have a shot every time someone says hi bob. You'll be hammered after one show.
