Just saw on College Football final, Todd McShay's top 5 QBs in draft, LSU, Zach Mettenberger

Good to see him up there

Probably covered already

I saw a few mock drafts that had him going 7th overall to the Browns. (This was before the injury)

I love Mett. He has a cannon of an arm and can put the ball anywhere. However, he also locks onto receivers and seems to enjoy trying to throw into double/triple coverage. His pocket awareness is iffy, but since when does an NFL QB need to be mobile to be successful? I think he could be a solid back-up in the NFL but I don't see him much more than that.

I think he needs to get drafted to a team where he doesn't have to start right away. People have been saying that Houston is ideal and I sort of agree.

Well he won't get drafted to start right away, because he will be recovering from the injury for all of training camp and some of the season.

I think Arizona is the best spot for mett. Vertical passing scheme of Arians to compliment mett's skills. He also could sit behind Carson Palmer who probably has one competitive season remaining. I know it sounds homer because of all the other LSU players there, but it makes sense when you look at the situation.

Arians offense would actually suit Mett to a T. He actually could do well in the O if he can become a better decision maker.

Was thinking exactly that a couple days ago. Houston early in the 2nd would be another good spot.

Another Tiger to Arizona. I can dig that.

All I can add to this is that I'm interested in where he goes, to see how he does.

I'm not that much of a pro football fan anymore, but after seeing the heart and the grit that this kid has, I would love to see him thrive wherever he plays.

Hopefully the injury doesn't cost him too much money. He's definetly one of the best QBs in this draft class.

With the rookie contract cap, players make their money later anyway. It won't cost him much in the grand scheme of things.

Whereever he goes, I have no doubt that he can be successful. I think he could do well in any standard NFL scheme, with his big arm. That means no he won't be going to Philly, where they need a mobile QB, and I hope he doesn't go to Oakland.. He'll get killed out there. He can be inaccurate at times, but we've all seen him thread the needle time and time again.. With a good QB coach in the NFL and some time, I think he could develop into a starter.

His biggest problem is that he's about as immobile as they come. Even the traditional pocket passers in the NFL can move a little.

Agreed.

It looks like his feet are in tar sometimes, if he gets drafted by a good QB coached team they may be able to show him how to "slide" his feet while in the pocket.

It sucks he won't get the bowl game, and then the senior bowl. If he had those two games he could have really made a big push. He reminds me more of Jay Cutler, and with the right OLine and OC could be a steady starter.

I was thinking the same thing, but heard an analyst say the injury won't hurt him much because he is not a mobile QB. Only things he has to do is move side to side, step in the pocket, and the knee he hurt was not the leg he drives the ball off of. Those things considered, ot should not hurt him.

And he couldn't really do that before the injury so he's golden.

If he could find someone to throw to that's covered, either into the dirt or over their head would be nice, instead of folding into the sack...... Get rid of it....
