Hearing this strong: Rockets determined to trade Omer Asik by Dec. 19 at latest and have ramped up discussions with potential trade partners

Reason Dec. 19 is significant is because anyone Rockets get would be eligible to be re-packaged in new deal on trade-deadline day (Feb. 20)

Now the question is, who is the lucky team is going to get him
Atlanta?
New Orleans?
or any other team

Anderson is out the window right now for them. ONLY possibility I could see would be Asik+Parsons for Anderson+Aminu+Rivers maybe? The pieces don't fit, and I don't see a deal happening unless they are willing to accept less than they're posturing for.

You're kidding.
Care to take a stab at a trade that would get accepted by both sides?
Didn't think so. It's a dumb trade, but it's as close as I could get.

would rather Terrence jones. But i dont think NOLA has that second piece to really make the trade work.
And i dont think Asik for Anderson is fair for NOLA straight up.

Atlanta receives: Omer Asik C
Houston receives: Paul Millsap PF

That's a joke trade. Literally impossible unless Morey somehow gets fired and we hire Mickey Mouse. Rivers is shite, way overvalued in his contract. Also, the Pels are the rebuilding team, NOT the Rockets, and this trade makes it look like Rockets rebuilding. Parsons is un-tradable.

I don't think he'll be traded to Nola for Anderson. But if Houston moves parsons it will be for a franchise type player not a Ryan Anderson.

It was Pels logic. I just figured it out. Mother of God if we ever even thought about that shitty trade.

Just so you see how stupid this is.
Asik as a starter averages a double-double.
Parsons 17.2 ppg.
Those would be 2 starters for NOLA.
Anderson 22.1 PPG only 6 rebs as a damned PF.
Rivers 2ppg
Aminu 6ppg
Essentially this trade would be Asik & Parsons for Anderson which is completely lopsided.

Just completely glaze over the facts that Asik is on a shitty contract and Houston needs to move him. They'll be lucky to get .50 on the dollar for him.

They probably need to added more salary or one/two picks.
In hindsight, Milsap/Asik deal is perfect for both sides but with Milsap putting up decent numbers in Atlanta, i dont know anymore.

Are you fricking kidding me? He's at $8.3/yr on the salary cap. That's fine. All I know is the Rockets GM is a pretty smart guy, and he's sure as hell put together a nice team….all I hear are GM's from worse teams, teams in dismay criticizing his asking price. Also, no one knows exactly what Morey's price is, I'm sure it changes based on the deal.

The difference with Asik would be he would compliment Horford much better AND provide a defensive presence. Millsap and Horford are a bad mix IMO. Isn't that why ATL benched him?
Posted on 12/6/13 at 12:14 pm to tiggerthetooth
Nope, he had a sore shoulder and they sit him for that game.
Asik/Horford would be a perfect but like I say, Milsap is putting up good numbers here but having Horford going back to 4 for good is something like to see.

Anderson for Asik won't happen because that's no fair for New Orleans
Parsons is untouchable as far as I'm concerned - that contract with his skill set is too good to trade away.
I think if Asik lands in New Orleans it will have to be a 3-teamer. There was a good one posted on pelicans talk the other day that had Granger, Withey and someone else I can't remember going to Houston, Gordon to Indiana, and Asik to the Pels. That won't happen either, though.

Calling it now. Asik to the Pels. Gordon, Parsons and Lin to the Knicks. Melo to the Rockets. Rockets stacked, League fked.
Posted on 12/6/13 at 12:39 pm to ZTiger87
I would love for Melo and Howard to be on a team together, especially with such terrible fans. Would be a hilarious meltdown when they suck.
But yeah, they aren't going to get much for Asik. Everyone in the league knows it and will be making lowball offers.
That's why they've specified December 19. So those players can be re-traded at the trade deadline. anything after that and they can't.
