Florida offensive lineman Derrick Kelly, a former Kentucky commitment who reopened his recruitment this week, added another major offer on Friday, from LSU, according to one of his coaches, Harrison Smith, on Twitter.

Kelly, a 6-foot-5, 289-pound player for East Gadsden High, was still planning to take an official visit to UK next weekend, Smith told The Courier-Journal on Tuesday. He also was planning to visit Florida, Florida State, South Carolina and South Florida.

Not the most impressive offer sheet in the world.

His weak offer list yet heavyweights interested makes me think it's probably his weight making the big offers weary. A guy like Eric Fisher came to college at about 250 and left the top pick. I think recruiting grades factor what a player is now over what he can be when it come to lineman. It's so hard to project though.

Watched his Hudl. He moves well. He's not mauling people with brute strength, but I'd rather have someone with good feet than a guy like Paul from st aug that is enormous but moves terribly.

Mmm... 3* but if it's just because of his weight like the Walrus says, that's nothing. If our S&C program knows how to do anything it's find a way to bulk some dudes up 20-30 pds.

He's late to the beauty pageant......he moves well and will add quality weight versus having to shed fat. I actually think this makes sense.

Not saying this kids isn't worth an offer but I wish they would go after a JUCO kid. This kid looks like he has the tools but it may take him a couple years to get it together.

It's possible that we have the same starting 5 on the OL next year. Is there a reason you think we have an immediate need such that we should take a juco guy?

Lil update for this thread.
-He has stated he is back and forth between Florida St and LSU
-Today (Dec. 13th) Florida St. got a commitment from an OT for the second time in as many weeks.
-They are the favorite to land roderick johnson as well which would make 3 OT's without Kelly.

From looking at this that is definitely starting to work in our favor.

This, he slipped through the cracks for whatever reason. He's an easy 4-star and will be a great get if we can land him.

After watching his highlights, looks good. 247 has him at 4stars, and you can see he has a lot to work with. He moves very well, and has a nice punch.
