Jimmy. Without Jimmy, there is no Slash.

Jimmy Page...although it seems that Slash has become a bit underrated by newer generations. Wasn't he on a reality show? That will do it

If I had to choose one, I'd go with Page...it's not really a choice.

Wow...even entertaining the idea of slash over jimmy effin page is like picking Justin Bieber over Elvis Presley.

Page but I think Slash has great chops. I listened to the Use Your Illusion albums again recently - some stellar guitar work on there from him. He and Izzy were a great tandem.

That's ridiculous...he's not comparing C.C. DeVille to Jimmy Page.

downvote

I'd probably still go with Page, but this is worthy.

ETA oh and whoever holds the Zeppelin rights these days needs to let Spotify start carrying them. I need this... for work stuffs...

That's funny since Poison did actually choose CC over Slash. Both auditioned for poison when they were starting up and the band took CC because of his glam look they were going for.

Jimmy P.

Love Slash but Jimmy is more versatile IMO.

Not a legit question. Any answer other than Page is just wrong.

I cannot believe I am acknowledging this question with a response. Someone please slap me. Hard.

Jimmy Page without question. Slash is not even close and does not belong in the conversation.

Page is a pretty phenomenal riff meister and a creative composer, but Slash is such a better technical player. Both are sloppy compared to many of their peers, but Slash is a much better player and has wayyyyyy better tone on most of his material.

Also, it depends on what type of band. If it's blues based than I would defintely want Page in the room for his unique approach to the blues. Also, is there another guitar player in the band to play either rhythm guitar (for Slash) or lead guitar (for Page). I think a band with both of them in it would come up with some kickass material actually.

I'd pass on both, mainly due to their style of guitar playing...
