If OBJ comes back his senior year and has a big year, could you see LSU retiring his number. Could you see LSU retiring #3 for Kevin Faulk soon. Or retiring the number for both players. I believe #3 should be retired for Kevin Faulk at this point.

They have been very slow at retiring numbers. There are only so many spots in the stadium for the names. Also there are far more deserving players in the past that this has not happened for.

Ok, so that's a big no on retiring numbers. Didn't realize that was a touchy subject.

Teams aren't retiring jerseys very much anymore. After 100 years you'd expect to have seen at least 10 greats come through for typical powerhouse teams. Eventually you'll run out of numbers. Place the player in the school hall of fame or ring of honor and call it a day. Like you should

There's only 99 numbers, man. We have guts come through every year who are as good as OBJ. Last year Bennie Logan and Minter, this year Mett and Landry, two years ago Mathieu and Brockers, before that PP7 and R Randle. Crimminy, if that was our standard we'd be out of numbers in 30 years.

No its not that retiring a # is a touchy subject or anything... its just why would we retire Odells #??

Kevin Faulk... sure. He holds the SEC record for all purpose yards in a career.

Odell Beckham... nope
