Yeah it sucks when they come in and pluck a couple of guys we would really like to have, but for the life of me I have trouble seeing how ANYONE else in the country could do any better than CLM has to this point. As they say out on the farm, "it's a tough row to hoe right now".

If we're going all the way back to the barksdale/Ridley years, then urban Meyer has most certainly accomplished more than miles as a recruiter. Since he's been the head coach, so has jimbo fisher. Texas has finished with a higher ranked class than Lsu more often than not. Georgia always finishes pretty similar in the rankings.

LSU fans are REALLY calling for Miles' head?? LSU fans need to understand that Nick Saban is arguably one of the best coaches EVER. Yet, who is the one coach who consistently gives Saban fits? What team has the best consistent record against Alabama? Which victory is Nick Saban always relieved to get? Which game always makes Alabama fans nervous? That's right. Les Miles was able to turn LSU into a program that can compete with perfection.

So LSU's program is judged just on one game? Just because LSU matches up well with Alabama (even though they've lost three straight now) then Miles is good? What about his losing record to Ole Miss the last five years?

Just to further expand.

Miles is 3-5 against Saban. .375

Spurrier is 3-1. .750

Tuberville is 4-4. .500

Richt is 2-4. .333

Sumlin is 1-1. .500

Miles has a better winning percentage against Bama than Cholly Mac. You can't hope for anything better than that!

At the end if the day, I feel that all the vitriol within the fan base is because of 1/9.

Les will never live this down until he if/when he wins another natty. Until then some fans are gonna be forever pissed at Miles.

Losing games to Ole Miss' second string, having #1 rated players leave the state, and being a clown with the clock only adds fuel to the fire.

Until Les can win a natty, some will forever feel disdain for him because of the circus that was 1/9.

Your facts are based on his overall record vs. Alabama/Saban. What's lost in translation is most of Les' success was early in Saban's Bama career. Miles laid a ROTTEN EGG in the BCS Championship game due to his own flaws. He's 0-3 in his last three contests vs. Saban.

A foundation has been laid.

What has Coach Hud done to make anybody think he would be a better fit at LSU than Miles? Really, big difference from ULL to the SEC. Some of you people need to get a grip!

It's already been mentioned in this thread. Miles is 3-5 against Saban. Sumlin is 1-1. What do I win?

Sumlin may well turn out to be a match for Saban, but he will have to prove it.

I personally think he is benefiting from the "once in a lifetime" talent that is JFF. Gene Chizik was also 1-1 against Saban after one year of Cam, and we saw how THAT turned out.

You ready to bet your house that Sumlin isn't the next Gene Chizik instead of the next Nick Saban? I didn't think so.

Nice try. What are their records since Saban has turned God at Bama?

The one they've beat 3 times in a row now (2 of the 3 being 3 TD victories)?

And let's make no mistake - Nov 2011 - 2 out of 6 FG is an outlier black swan event.

Sev, this is a very telling thought on Miles' and LSU. I actually agree 100% with this.

Sumlin has been there 2 years. How many coaches have had as many chances as Miles to play Alabama under Saban?

This is true, but 1/9 is what it is. This year was a game til the end of the third qtr and the O and D lines quit on us. That game was in no way, shape, or fashion in the bag for Bama til the 4th qtr.

Very disturbing. Especially when considering Sabans philosophy of make their arse quit.

True. And to make matters worse it was our lines that made Bama quit in the regular season game in 2011. Funny how things can switch on ya in such a short time ain't it.

Holgorsen and Keenum at Houston got him the A+M job. Just sit back and watch what happens when JFF departs. Oh wait, didn't A+M get a commitment from the #1 rated high school drop back pro-style passing QB?
