We are 7-2 and nationally ranked. We are about to play the #1 ranked team in the country. Maybe I've been following LSU a lot longer than the hacks on this board, but this is the situation that would (and does) have me fired up for two solid weeks yet all we have spewing on this board is bitching and moaning because we lost to Ole Miss. shite happens.

If you were a realistic fan you would know this wasn't our year to really make a run at a national title, you simply can't replace losing so many underclassmen that were starters on defense. That really shouldn't be too hard to grasp.

The younger fans are all too spoiled and don't want anything to do with the team if they aren't in the hunt for a national title, those fans need to go away anyway and if a disappointing season is all it will take, that's an easy price to pay for losing those fans.

Get this. I just posted in a thread where a guy said Lane Liffin is a better choice than Miles

Lane. Kiffin.

Spoiled is the only answer. Sometimes I I wish we could have a nad bad season or two to bring them back to reality. 2000-2003 were so great because of the 90s.

Our "fans" suck, because they are fans of LSU, and observers of Alabama.

They don't follow college football. They check Alabama's box score, compare it to LSU's and compare and compare, bitch and bitch.

If I didn't want to anything to do with this team I wouldn't waste my time on this board.

Hopefully you don't think this board is reflective of most fans.

There were tons of empty seats last night. There's only so much blame you can put on "young fans". But I have heard this down season to get rid of the bandwaggoners idea more than a few times. The problem with that theory is that winning attracts fans without the strongest ties. The idea that they wouldn't be back with a vengeance the next time LSU is really good (which will be quite soon), is laughable.

You want something to do with them while they're good, let LSU go 7-5 or 6-6 a couple of years and we will see.

I remember being fired up to watch the Tigers in the Indy Bowl.

How does this have any bearing on whether or not fans should be happy with LSU's season?

The fact that we have a chance to beat the best and be ranked around 6-7 nationally should have people looking up.

Young fans that lack a sense of reality coupled with a huge sense of entitlement.
I think they totally buy into the preseason media bull shite hype. Thus getting their expectations set at a much higher level than reality can support. Then their inflated expectations clash with reality as the season rolls along. They then pitch tantrums.

So do I. I also remember being more excited about playing National Championship games.

The vast majority of posters on this board were predicting 10-2/9-3 this year based on (a) the schedule and (b) the losses on Defense. Yet, when pre-season polls came out, everyone was crying because LSU was ranked too low (13th I believe)? "They are who we thought they were".

Met a bama "fan" at epcot yesterday. She asked me who bama was playing. Winning attracts t-shirt fans for sure.

They're teenagers on a football field. They lost a game to Ole Miss that they shouldn't have due to some costly errors. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and deal with it.

LSU fans need to reconcile themselves to the reality of the situation. When it comes to LSU football, shite Happens.

It happens at least once per year, sometimes more. It has happened in the past, it will happen again. It is GOING to happen.

We will win 80 percent of our games, but, shite WILL happen.

This is the best that LSU can do with football. Stop allowing emotions to control you. Accept reality.

The people in charge of LSU, the University, do not have it as their mission statement to win the "Superbowl" every year, or any year, for that matter. LSU football fans should take heed of this fact.

As for the LSU Athletic Dept, I'll bet that Title IX compliance is LOTS higher on their agenda than is winning the football "Superbowl."
