Unmarked Military Gunboats patrolling in Eden Iles canals in Slidell?

Any idea what's going on here?
Video in link.
A video shows unmarked military gunboats patrolling the canals around Slidell, Louisiana.
Apparently, the residents have never seen this in the area before.
Is this part of some kind of drill or is it just normal now in the new Amerika to see armed troops patrolling public canals?

I love my country...but I have grave concerns for the direction it's headed.

I've seen boats similar to that by Chef Pass and Lake B. I always assumed they were just testing something that Textron had built for them.

I would imagine the canals of a residential neighborhood would/should be treated the same as the streets of a neighborhood. Meaning that weapons should not be visible or mounted on vehicles and training exercises should be announced WELL AHEAD of when the exercise takes place.
I have a friend who lives in Eden Isles and they were not informed of any exercises that were taking place.

That's my old unit (SBT-22...was SBU-22 when I was a member). They're driving the new SOCR boats out of stennis whereas I was riding the the old PBRs out of Algiers.
This is nothing new. We drove all over LA in the 80's just like that. Brought home many a deer on the deck and loads of fish compliments of C4.
These guys are on "training" cruises...aka fricking off and having fun.

Probably (Special Boat Team)SBT-22 out of Stennis. They are part of SEAL team 5.
I agree it's probably them but what the hell are they doing idling thru the canals in a private subdivision?

They were looking for the boat raping dolphin.

They are part of SEAL team 5.
The majority of work during my day was DEA insertions/extractions.

That's kinda what I figure/hope.
There's a good seafood restaurant in the marina there and they likely stopped for a bite then took a little drive thru the hood.

Pretty sure they're training. No need for the tin foil hats.
Yet.

My Dad used to work for US Marine Inc that had a yard out there. He was always running around testing the new boats with the Seals/Regular Navy/Marine/Army personnel.
Quite often after they installed all the gun mounts the seals showed up and they loaded up and went to shoot stuff out in the Marsh.
Dad would come home and show us the videos, also we would go by with him on Saturdays to run the boats around and would see the shot up flat boats.

It's public waterway, regardless of how the residents feel about it.

If it makes you uncomfortable, call the CO @ Stennis and bitch at him.j Raise hell about "perceived safety" "guns making your family fearful....we'd join the military if we want to be around that shite"...blah-blah-blah.
I guarantee you that the boys will get yelled at and the "cruizin'" will come to a quick end in that area.

When we're you in? I can remember as a young kid going down there to watch them do maneuvers on the Pearl. My dad was a part of SBU22 although I don't know at what capacity he served.
Had to be very late 70s or very early 80s. It's some of my earliest memories so I had to be 3-4 yrs old. I can remember my dad taking me on the boats when they were docked at Algiers too.
