'Delay’ suddenly not a dirty word at White House

quote:

WHITE HOUSE OPENS DOOR TO OBAMACARE DELAY - As the federal government teetered on the brink of shutdown at the end of last month, the White House and Senate Democrats flatly refused a Republican emergency spending bill that would have kept the government open but delayed ObamaCare’s requirement that individuals purchase health insurance by March 31 or face a fine. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid responded to a GOP counteroffer by saying Republicans had “lost their minds.” But after an epic failure of a launch for the new health insurance entitlement and with the partial shutdown over, “delay” suddenly isn’t a dirty word anymore. With many of those subject to the fine unable to sign up due to manifold botches in the enrollment process, Democrats are warming up to the idea.

Really does illustrate just how pathetic establishment GOP was to not call Obama's bluff.

What a fricking sham.

According to Democrats during the shut down, they were terrorists for suggesting this.

They'll probably delay it and spin it as they are trying to keep people from paying a fine whereas the Rep's were buying time to repeal the ACA.

ding ding.

Of course, in the case that happens, no one would say anything about how it was the ineptness of their own program that they would be saving people from. They will be able to characterize the glitches and dysfunctionality as some unforeseeable occurrence like a natural disaster.

They will be able to snatch a victory from the jaws of their own defeat.

I just learned that "dysfunctionality" is not a word. I'm using it anyway.

Most of us conservatives said all along this government shutdown had nothing to do with the defund Obamacare guys ( Cruz & company ) but was all about the 17 trillion dollar debt.

But the lying media knows better.us

My God the Republicans should have forced this entire law on the country with no exemptions. They had 3.5 and over 500 million to complete project.

Is this a LAW or not? As of Oct. 1, didn't this law go into effect?

Meh laws don't apply unless you want them to, or perhaps you can glean a political advantage.

If they delay it long enough, a Rep. President can get in a delay it for another for a 4 years.

I agree but first they had to point out how bad it is and they had to do it loudly or the majority would never see how truly abysmal Obamacare will be. Haven't we seen just sticking to our guns and beliefs doesn't work by itself? We just get steam rolled by the media and democrats because no one stands up and points out these horrendous crap piles that are pushed on us. But by Cruz actually forcing this into the public eye, and doing it loudly, maybe some people who were leaning left now sees the light. We have been to quiet in the past it is now time to wake up, start making noise and push out these establishment cronies, dems and repubs, who don't have our best interest in mind.

In order to delay, won't Congress have to pass a measure to delay it? If so, house leadership should just laugh and tell the Dems to "frick off. You own this steaming pile of horse shite."

That won't backfire at all. The Republicans have proven they are excellent strategists.
