League minimum one year deal. Basically a tryout. No risk.

you could get someone late in the draft for cheaper that could provide better depth than will at this point

Seeing as he will most definitely be cut, what is Smith's cap hit after being cut next season? I thought 2014 was a team option.

His salary isn't guaranteed next year, and we're doing great without him. He gone.
