For awhile to start the season I was on the Stills train, but I've moved over to the Toon train.

Stills has not shown the ability to make the tough catches... and he has even shown that he is prone to dropping passes right in his hands like the one against Chicago on a big 2nd and 12.

Toon has already made a few tough catches... I just think that Stills is only able to make the clear cut wide open catches as of right now... he certainly can't get up there in traffic and come down with the ball. Which is what Brees generally asks of his receivers. Even tiny Lance Moore has the ability to fight for the ball.

I'm not saying I don't like Kenny Stills or that he shouldn't be starting. I'm just saying that at this point in the season... Toon has proven to be a little bit more reliable.

I guess Toon didn't drop that touchdown pass on MNF the other day?

That drop wasn't nearly as bad as Stills dropping the 2nd and 12 ball where there was literally no one around him for 10 yards.

Yes, but tell me where it has been a problem? This was one. Where are the rest?

I think they're both going to have nice careers. And I agree that Toon is ahead of Stills at this point.... I think the reason Stills is getting a little more playing time so far is due to the Moore injury.

If he doesn't drop that one ball this thread doesn't get posted. Fact

That's besides the point, I guarantee you if Joe Morgan doesn't go down for the year, Stills would be wearing a practice jersey right now.

No its absolutely relevant to a receivers progress. Jimmy graham used to drop a lot more balls when a wookie. Toon is a better receiver now than as a wookie.

Maybe Toon woulda been odd man out... :WHOA:

Stills just needs a little more time to get used to the speed of the NFL IMO. He has the talent but sometimes looks nervous when the ball is thrown to him. Both will be very good wrs in the coming years.

2 WRs, yea, but they are completely diff WRs. Toon is in the Colston moold, while Stills is a blend of Moore and Meachem/speed.

Yeah, his 2 catches to Still's 7 have definitely separated him from Stills for sure.

Fact is, neither one of them is performing like I'm sure the Saint's would like for them to.

They are essentially both rookies and have contributed so far and we're 5-0. I'm sure the Saints are plenty satisfied with their performances so far.

I certainly wouldn't say that. Problem is the Saints are very deep at the skill positions so there isn't going to be a lot of balls for most guys(especially with the way Jimmy and Drew have locked on).

I think Stills playing more than half the snaps every game says they like him plenty, and had we not resigned Meach you'd probably be seeing Toon a whole lot more.

This signing says plenty of how they feel about Stills and Toon.

ETA: I like both of these kids and would like to see them do well. Stills shows flashes, but he also seems to drop a few. Aside from Toons last catch, he hasn't done ANYTHING to impress.
