That's besides the point, I guarantee you if Joe Morgan doesn't go down for the year, Stills would be wearing a practice jersey right now.

Not to sure about that. Morgan only had 21 targets and 10 catches all of last season and Stills already has 16 targets and 7 catches this season. Stills is more than just a run a streak route guy.

Stills has not shown the ability to make the tough catches... and he has even shown that he is prone to dropping passes right in his hands like the one against Chicago on a big 2nd and 12.

Also, you know who has a higher drop percentage than Stills? Nick Toon. He is tied for first in the NFL in drop percentage haha.

In the preseason Stills showed he can make some really tough catches, but he just hasn't had as many opportunities to do so.

Not really, especially not about Stills since he has been getting more snaps than Meachem.

There was familiarity with Meachem and I'm sure they didn't like to see what happened to him in San Diego especially since Payton said he still saw the same talent he saw in him when he was with us.

That says nothing about how they felt with Toon. Had Meachem not been released we would not have picked up another receiver.

Also these guys were fourth and fifth round picks and have shown more than Meach did at this point in his career and he was a first rounder. I think Payton would tell you he is pleased with them so far.

ill reserve my judgement until next year. if a player can't fix his issues by his second year of full-time playing, then we may have an issue.

One of these guys got redshirted a year, one didn't

Well, yeah. I was just pointing out that while Toon is, in my opinion a little more polished at this point Stills is seeing the field more than him because of the Moore injury(I wasn't trying to slight Stills).

If Moore were healthy and Colston nicked up I assume Toon would get on the field more than Stills.

I don't think you thought what your thinking was not what the consensus thoughts of the board were. Collectively speaking on thinking.

Jimmy graham used to drop a lot more balls when a wookie. Toon is a better receiver now than as a wookie.
now that you say it, Graham does seem to play like a clean-shaven Chewbacca.

Sorry, couldn't resist

Re Toon and Stills, I think the drops are a non-issue. Both will grow into nice complementary WRs in this offense.

these tracks are like Payton's offensive designs, plenty of options.

Then ya roll out the weapons. There's more than enough to go around

Well Stills certainly has. Meach didn't even play his rookie year

Well...with the balls going to Graham and Sproles, there aren't a bunch to go to the other guys. As soon as they try to stop Jimmy and Darren, Stills will get more shots.

Stills drops a pass and now he is prone to drops. People are so reactionary
