Jambalaya cook-off downtown

3rd and North streets. Tents everywhere $10 all you can eat from 5-8p. Stage being set up so probably live music.

It's fricking awesome. It's like going to a tailgate and every group is giving you free samples.

Those BASF, Shell, Turner Industries, PCS, OXY and Motiva boys cook some good Jambs too. I cook with many of them time to time.

They do tonight, when the actual contest takes place and they sell jambalaya. Not booze for sale now but the trucks are in place.

Not positive, but I doubt more than $4. There are typical Bud and Bud Light beer trucks. I have not been out there since about 1 PM>

If I recall correctly, it's like Live After 5. You buy tickets and it works out to $3 for a Bud or Bud Light. If you give them a $20, you get tickets for 7 beers.
