That's a realistic goal that our defense can shoot for. Get two stops (punt or turnover) per half and hold them to a FG on other drive. That's 6 points on 6 drives each game.

Worst cas scenario, I think our offense will score 21 on those same drives. If we go tit for tat the rest of the game we win easy.

I mentioned something similar as well. FGs are victories right now for this defense, and with our offense we can manage to win games If they can at least keep it to 3pts per.

Obviously not every single drive but you get the point

Remember the days when we were very glad to defer and kickoff so the defense could come on the field and get a 3 and out. Should we now receive since we have become an offensive team?

Seriously, it looks like the D gets up for the first 3 plays of the series. If they give up a first down they just seem demoralized and fold after that.

I posted in an earlier thread from today:

Moo st scored 3 TDs out of 11 true possessions. We do that every game; we run the table.

But Moo St. had no QB to speak of...but I totally agree with your premise...and it appears that the coaches are with you on that...but i still expect to see the defense to play somewhat soft in the first few possessions...they don't want to give up any TDs immediately...make 'um drive it and show some of their sets,etc...then tighten up as the defense gets a feel for the game plan...to me, this just seems to be the thinking as it's played out so far...if White and RR can cut it, we'll be OK...jmho

The second half last night was a great glimpse of what this team could be with any kind of good defensive play.
