Here is what can be expected for those of you who are making the trip to Starkville:

NEGATIVES:
-Unpredictable weather, might rain, might not, who knows?
-Overly confident fans.
-A stadium that has cut the student section in half for construction.
-A town with a variety of food... fast food.

POSITIVES:
-Harvey's on Highway 12. Get this: start with the fried mushrooms with wine and cheese sauce, get the marinated ribeye as your entre with a caesar salad. Ribeye is marinated 48 hours in soy, pineapple, garlic, and ginger, one of my favorite steaks ever.
-Black Crowes, which should be cool.

Those are the only good things in this shat hole city.

Been hearing it from my buddies this week about how LSU will come out flat after UGA and State will steal this one. Also the last time I had a break from school and Starkville was last Christmas break so my level of negativity for this city is at an all time high. Anyway, have a good time up here, watch out for ABC if you are underage, they will be out in numbers for the bash.

People who don't pull for their school are odd.

People who cheer for one school for 18 years and then stop cheering for that school because they move to a different city for 4 years are odd.

Not really. I know a number of people that went elsewhere but are about as diehard LSU as it gets.

That's fine. I stand by my position and don't pretend to "speak for" anyone else. Carry on chaps.

If you live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast but your family is from Louisiana and you have been an LSU fan all your life but then went to Miss. St. because of in state tuition, do you expect that person to just drop LSU and become a State fan?

It doesn't happen.

Lots of Alabama fans at Miss. St. too, by the way.

Yeah it is fricking crazy that someone would not base their financial future and adult life on their favorite college team. Who are these wack jobs.

He knows.... A lot of my friends went to other SEC schools but still wear the LSU colors and are die hards. Some people just want a different college experience or want to go for a particular program, especially if your from Baton Rouge and want to get away.

I think such folks are terribly lame. I'm not going to do anything other than think that, but I'm going to continue to think that. Supporting your school makes college much more enjoyable.

I graduated from UAB. Mother and father went to LSU. Been going to LSU games my whole life. After high school my father got sick so I went to UAB, instead of LSU so I could help care for him. I'll stick with my Tigers.

That's like us, we're from La., but had to move to Tupelo,Ms for a corporate job. Had wife and son go to State for a required degree[Hate Ole Miss],but me and son are die-hard LSU. Got a 2nd advanced degree at State, but, support LSU 100%. Son was recruited as a center by State, but he wanted and got LSU offers. He went somewhere else for a full scholarship. LSU gave grayshirt/walk-on deal,Ben Wilkerson got the full scholarship. Geaux Tigers.

Does this logic apply to cities also? Do I have to root for the Texans now or can I still wear my black and gold every Sunday?

What I really don't understand is the people I know from Baton Rouge that grow up cheering for LSU then go to Ole Miss/Bama/UGA and completely turn against LSU. Doesn't really make sense to me.
