I think Gary Danielson said it best in two segments at different times during the UGA game:

1-I'm just not used to seeing the LSU dline not able to get any pressure on the QB
2-LSU could really use some of those DBs that graduated to the NFL

Great game but very disappointing overall on defense. Almost pitiful IMO...

The ballyhooed defensive class hasn't contributed very much so far this year

You can get all the studs you want but if they aren't coach up it don't mean a thing. We need Ron Cooper back and get rid of Corey Raymond

Our secondary sucks. Plain and simple. I'd love to have Cooper back.

If Gerald Willis, Godchaux and Travonte Valentine want to play immediately, then we have a couple spots for them.

You can think you know what you are talking about, but you just look stupid because you don't.

When you replace NINE guys on defense in the SEC, it's going to hurt. It wouldn't matter if we had the best defensive coaches in the world that wouldn't matter.

But yes, any d-line recruits, secondary recruits and Clifton Garrett want to play early for a perennial top ten team, they have to be licking their chops to come here

And revert back to terrible recruiting at DB?

I'm not saying we need to fire any coaches, but I've been an LSU die-hard for over 35 years and I've never seen the confusion in the secondary nor lack of penetration from the dline as I've seen this year. Maybe when Lou Tepper was the defensive coordinator...

You have to remember to put it all in perspective. The DB's we had that were so good would not look nearly as good if they were playing with the DL we have now. Also the DL we had that was so good benefited greatly from us having some really good DB's. My point is, it all works together. We have no depth on the DL and our LB's as a whole are very average. We are just really young on Defense. The thing we need to remember is with this offense we will be in every game. I say they start playing these younger guys much more and let them get the experience so that next year our D is back where it was. We going to need it because we will be breaking in a new QB next year but I really believe everything is lining up for us to be very very good in 2015.

Ed paris is probably the closest safety prospect we have seen at LSU to ed reed........he's got great coverage skills and seems to make the biggest play in every game he involved in.

Battle reminds me a lot of Reid.....he is coming to hit you. I think he's a bit behind Reid in his understanding of the position, but he may shock some people.

I think Voorhies ends up in the defensive backfield because we need depth there. I think this kid is the most overlooked prospect in this class. I can see this kid moving to rb if we need him to (if we have a mass exodus of hill, hilliard, and blue) or being a big time safety. He has elite speed and makes a ton of plays. Ideally, i would keep this kid at free safety and let paris play corner IMO.

I don't know much about deondre clark and clifton garrett outside of their rankings and highlights. I have never seen them play in person, which really gives you a different perspective of a player.

tony brown is the fastest corner in the nation and one of the more polished at the position. decent size. unreal 2 sport athlete.

Hootie is a perfect fit at strong safety. He's big, can hit. He's got great instincts. Could be an LB in our system as well if Jefferson and others provide great enough depth at safety.

Kenny Young......I don't know where a lot of people really see him being ranked in the nation, but this kid has probably played in more big games than any other lb in the nation and he always shows up. I think he is a guy that deserves more respect within the state. He reminds me a lot of Darry Beckwith.

Gerald Willis is as good as it gets on the defensive line. He's tenacious. He gets stronger as the game goes on. He plays angry and is disruptive. He's a kid that adds great depth as a true freshman at either tackle or end.

These are the guys I think we have a good chance of getting that should make some impact next season if they commit to LSU. Some because they are talented and some on top of that will be needed to add immediate depth.....may be some young starters in this bunch.

LSU hit a very good Georgia offense, plain and simple.
This is the same team that went toe to toe with a very good Clemson team.

A muffed punt changed the outcome, it happens.

We knew our defense was young.
They got exposed in the middle and at the db position.

I am proud of this team and it will only get better with time.

People bitched for years about no offense, I'd rather lose like this than 10-7.

Time to move on. LSU's future is bright
LSU will learn from this and get better.

Did anyone expect LSU to go undefeated after the mass exodus of studs that left?

THIS. What's great is if we can win the rest of the games on our schedule, we'll still win the SEC West and be right in the middle of the National Championship picture. Everybody calm down.

Our secondary is so young. My biggest worry was our d line was invisible the whole game.

That's all we have to do. We lost our chance to play in the NCAA this year

Idk we did it in 2010 and 11???? Some of you guys are freakn blind to see that coaching does have a lot to do with this! Cooper made it a lil more simple..... Play to your strengths not complicated perfect technic. Yes they will get better once they get this technic down but they looked confused as all hell on that field! And if you want to bash someone for their opinion then that makes YOU look like an air headed FOOL you are! frick off

The reason we couldnt get any pressure has a lot to do with the fact that we cant blitz due to shitty dbs
