But only a 2.75M buyout.

Does Texas shove him into retirement?

Move him into some kind of ambassador or Head Coach Emeritus role. The boosters love him apparently.

He's good friends with Red McCombs, Joe Jamail, and Jim Bob Moffett. So, he's pretty well connected. That's the main reason why he was supposedly the next AD.

He would just be a figure head for fundraising while everyone else did the work...kind of like what he's doing now.

Some would be happy, others would not. Our defense has been elite with Muschamp at UF. Personally, I would like to see Muschamp with a QB that has the mental capacity to handle a pro style offense. Driskel is an air head, so there's really no telling how good of a coach Muschamp can be.

If they could get Saban, they would already have both their houses sold.

I'd like to see our coaching staff adapt to the personnel we have.

I mean, I'm not asking for us to completely change our offensive philosophy, but why not play to Driskel's strengths a bit more? He's great at the read option and it's almost always successful when we run it, but we rarely ever run it.

I don't think anyone really wants him gone, though. No one who is actually a fan of UF wants to see the program set back another five years.

Brown's contract, which was extended through the 2020 season earlier in 2012, could be worth as much as $43 million over the next nine seasons. By figure, the $3.5 million buyout seems surprisingly low.

Down to 2.75m after this year.

Sounds like you may have LSU Syndrome...a poorly implemented offense. Hiring a real oc may be the best medicine.

most buy-outs are how much a coach has to pay to leave. Usually there is no buy-out the other way and that is negotiated. Are you sure that isn't the case with Mack?

In fact, Joe Jamail (who not only is a huge booster but Brown's personal attorney) threatened to sue if they try to force him out.
