We can all agree this line is definitely playing sub-par. Ton of pressure for brees, no holes for the runningbacks, and just an overall bad play. Yes I know Evans is playing the worst 2 games of his life, but he has a back injury so I'll let that slide.

Is this line salvageable? If so what week will this show us a "dominant" o-line that we're used to.

If not, do you think OL will be the first thing we address in the draft?

The oline as they played today is good enough for us to go around 10-6/9-7 and maybe make the playoffs as a WC if our offense makes a few timely plays and the D stays stout. We would get absolutely skullfricked by the San Fran's of the world if they played like they did today.

We have been spoiled the last few years but Tampa did have some legit defensive linemen... Just takes time, they wll be alright...

gotta agree, 3/4 of tampa's starting dline are 1st or 2nd rounders with akeem spence being the lone 4th rounder.

but worries me that the line is getting blasted during run plays

I cannot decide if it is personnel or the new coach. The OLine really looks bad. DLP looks terrible and Grubbs and Evans look average at best. Brown and Strief are serviceable. Overall as a unit, they look confused.

OL is clearly not as good as years past, but I think they are getting a ton of undeserved hate. The whole offense played poorly, period.

Amazing how PT and Sproles were able to consistently get yards, while Ingram blew, yet the OL was horrible.

OL gets blamed when Sproles was simply outmatched blocking the rusher.

OL gets blamed when Brees threw both INTs with little to no pressure on him. Brees also holds the ball way too long on multiple plays resulting in pressure and sacks.

In the end, the whole offense is struggling, but the OL is the least to blame.

Uh, no. They are just as much to blame.

As far as Brees, he did seem to hold on to the ball too long at times. I was wondering if he was still a bit foggy from the helmet to helmet.

I didn't say they don't get any blame, it goes all around, but while they had some bad moments, it wasn't on them as much as on Ingram (cost the Saints multiple times) and weren't responsible on 3 key plays (Brees' INTs and the sack given up by Sproles).

In the end, it's a lot of things making it look worse than it really is.

Man they were bad today. Tampa does have a lot of depth at D-Line tho, but it's still no excuse

TB's defense is impressive. If they had a coach, they would be dangerous.

This played a factor.

Also, I think Sean has already said it in his post game interview, but his playing calling was pretty bad and put us in some bad positions.

I think the pass blocking will be fine, but the run blocking is below avg,

For us to win the SB, I think we have to trade for one good OL.

The OL had a bad game. Shitty conditions, sloppy field and a desperate team in the Bucs. Simple as that. They'll be back.

The run blocking would look a whole lot better if the worst RB in the league wasn't getting the most carries every game

They're not getting their protections lined up right. That's a combination of Brees and DLP.

It's also obvious to me that Evans is playing hurt. I'm not sure if we'd be better off resting him for a couple of Games. Lelitto held his own during the preseason.

We all know the two tackles weren't going to be all pro. I guess you can call them average. Where we make our money is with the two guards. They need step up and everyone on that o-line will improve.

Brees had two WTF moments that nearly cost them the game.

I remember one delayed blitz in particular where DLP blocked nothing but air and the LB came right up the middle. Those mistakes will cost us if they don't get it fixed. Tampa had a lot of success with the delayed blitz today and I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of it.
