Name a must eat at restaurant and breakfast place!

You'll really have to be way more specific. Price point? Fine dining? Bistro? Casual? How long will you be in town?

Surrey's Cafe and Juice Bar
Camelia Grill

Probably about 20 of those. But since you didn't make reservations a few of those will be off the list.

MrBige.. where are you staying?

Dinner (assuming you're in the FQ): Criollo, Mr B's, GW Fins, Sylvain. If you want casual Deanie's for BBQ shrimp, Felix's, or Three Muses.
Breakfast: Cafe Beignet, Stanley
There are lots of conventions and conferences in town so call ahead to check availability.

Sorry. Don't know much about breakfast. I'm usually too hungover to make it in time for breakfast on weekends.

Cajun? Got to Cochon, most NOLA food is Creole. Cajun is like SW Louisiana.

Not many Cajun options in Nola. We aren't a Cajun city.
You can try to get in to Cochon. Probably can't though. If not there maybe a place that sells Nola food that is super casual, like Coop's place.
Breakfast:
Slim Goodie's maybe
By the way, you could sit at the bar or at the kitchen bar at Cochon. I would really try that.

Cochon and Slim Goodie's (although it's just diner food) are good options. Also maybe go to Merchant in the CBD for breakfast.. great espresso and crepes. Or Mena's in the FQ.

I do NOT get the obsession with Camelia Grill. Am I missing something? It's diner food. And crappy diner food at that.

Its pretty unique but the food doesnt do it for me the way it used to. Still good in a pinch, but I dont know if I would steer anyone there from out of town.
Eta: its definitely above average diner food

I used to like taking my grandma there when the alzheimer's had her really bad. She used to go there all the time back in the day, and her memory seemed better there, especially when she could sing along.
The food is legit for comfort breakfast food, but if I was on a 36 hour NOLA binge I wouldn't head there. Kpaul's is a good choice, and as there aren't doing restaurant week, it probably won't be as hard to get a table.
