So If I get off at 5 on Friday, what is a good time to go and try these beers at the Ave?

I saw the thing on Saturday but we are headed to Kiln Ms. For a brew tour

SBD is a first for me.

Very nice. Have their Expedition too which I hear is even better. Cellaring that for a colder night.

Yes, that is a good one. The Expedition is an imperial stout and also very good.

I love Bell's. I'll be broke if they ever start distributing to Texas.

THA, Kalamazoo, Expedition, Black Note, Double Cream, Hopslam, Oracle...Such a great Lineup

Wiltz, have you tried the Widmer/CCB Gentleman's club series? What i've read so far doesn't look too promising.

I have one in my fridge that Wiltz sent me. If I'm heading to Nola this weekend we'll crack if there.

Haven't read great things, but it's probably better than most around here.

It wasn't bad, I just didn't care for the price point of $22-25 locally. The whole concept was for the beer's flavor to resemble the "Old Fashioned" cocktail. There were 3 varieties made IMHO the new oak was the best with the rye and bourbon being right behind it.

Definitely worth trying but not worth going out of your way to get all 3...

Gotcha...That's what's bothering me. For $20+ it better be a badass beer. I'll probably just try the new oak one and call it a day.

Have fun in NOLA, that Avenue Pub lineup is pretty stout. I'm jealous of you assholes.

The average price was $22 or so here in Tampa. I thought for sure they would take an eternity to sell. Boy was I wrong, those bottles flew off the shelves in a week or so.

I got the impression CCB wasn't happy with the pricing either and left the release party feeling that Widmer had really pushed for it to be priced that high. By way of comparison, Hunahpu sells for $20 a bottle...
