1) been posted at least twice already
2) chart is bogus... look at the recommendation for video card (hd7870) and vRAM (3GB). someone should tell these fine folks that AMD does not produce a hd7870 with 3 GB of vRAM.

by "these folks" you mean the developers of BF4?
I agree that the chart may be slightly contradictory, but it is definitely from Dice. See the BF twitter...

i mean whoever put it out didnt do even the slightest bit of proofing. go find me a HD7870 with 3GB of vRAM.
if you are going to put out the "official" requirements for a game, at least get them right.

I think they can get a pass here. For one, there are 660s out there with 3GB vram (not that I'd recommend buying one now).
The 7870 has a 33% wider memory bus than the 660, so the devs maybe speculated that the memory usage would be similar between a 2GB 7870 and a 3GB 660. The 7870 also has a third more shading units, a third more floating point operations per second, and a third more render output processors (which affects reading and writing to vram). I know it's still an apples and oranges comparison with two different architectures, but it still makes a little bit of sense.
Recommended settings are typically more general. It's the minimum requirements that have to be specific, since they determine whether or not you can even run the game whatsoever. I kind of interpret it as saying "7870 would be pretty good, but something with more vram would be better." or "The 660 and 7870 are recommended, but if you go with a better card, choose one with 3GB+ vram."
Basically, they compared one of the lowest performing 3GB cards available to its equivalent performing competitor, as the recommended performance baseline. Stepping up from either of those cards, a 3GB card is recommended.
What I really want to know are the technical details. What element of the game/settings will take advantage of the extra vram? And at what resolution? That's important. Wish they would've indicated that.
I'll be curious to see how a 7950 performs vs. a 760. Or better yet, how well a 4GB 770 will perform over a 2GB 770 in this game. That will be a pretty good indicator on whether or not the vram recommendation is bullshite.

they put out a buggy chart that required you to present a white paper to explain. i think you are far more lenient than i am

lol, good point. They probably expect most people to look at the requirements and say "yes, master."
