Fleas in the house, sprayed, shoved Comfortis.....

down the throats of our cats and one dog. It was effective in killing fleas on them but we have some rugs with fleas now. Pet owners, what is your go to flea killer once they get in your house.
This is how this came about - An indoor only cat got outside for about 15 mins. Days later I noticed a few fleas on her. We go on vacation for a week and come back to cats with fleas, alot of them.

Call an exterminator ASAP. They may need to come multiple times to completely get rid of them.

You going to need to spray inside and outside every 24 hrs. I believe fleas lay eggs and they hatch every 24 hrs. I am not an exterminator, but you need some strong poison and a pressure sprayer. Also get some of that shite you can connect to the water hose outside for the yard. Also, spray the yard a couple days in a row. I believe you can also get some granules that can be applied with a spreader. Basically, you need to kill them inside and outside. Then treat all the animals....good luck.

Gotta bomb them and then do it again 2 or 3 days later. Don't wait until you see them again to do it. Took me 4 times.

Check homeowners policy

Fleas reproduce super-fast when the weather is hot and humid. For that reason you gotta be more aggressive than usual.
Twice a week for 2 weeks.
If infestation is REALLY bad, bomb 3x the first week and 2x the second week.
Fleas really suck.

boric acid, best and cheapest use your broom and sweep it through the rugs then vacuum the next day

Exterminator FTW. Fleas have been horrendous this year. frickers are developing resistance to lots of OTC preventatives. I've been dipping my dogs/ cats for extra measure

I dealt with some bad fleas from cats at my cousins house a while back.
I'd recommend calling an exterminator.
I probably spent over a $100 in bombs and carpet spray and shite. None of it worked.
Oh and vacuum, a lot. Several times a day.

Thanks Gents! I have been a googling fool on this flea killing issue but I thought might as well utilize the intelligence gathered through other's experience within the OB family. I just found out a friend of mine who I had not seen in several years now has a 2 man bug killing business. I'll give him a jingle and see what gives.

Bomb that shite to hell..spend the night out.
My wife, newborn and I went to Santa Barbara for 5 nights some years ago.. Came back to an infestation.. The dogs were boarded but my neighbors had numerous cats.. Best I could figure was the dogs medicine was taking care of them until they were taken out of the area.. The cats crossing under the house consistantly brought them into my domain with nothing to latch onto and eventually be terminated.. When I walked through my kitchen and looked down at my sock.. It
was covered with probably. 50-100 fleas.. Vacated the
premise and dropped 7 bombs in the house for overkill.. Swept those frickers up the next day and bombed again a few days later.. Never had an issue again

This is why we no longer allow house pets. Never a house flea since. Spread talstar outside and the dogs have no fleas.

Yeah, they release a formulation for cats not too long ago. We tried it on our outside cats, but it caused them to throw up everytime we gave it to them with a meal. We went back to Frontline.
