You guys should watch the whole video. He said towards the end that this was the best team they would play all year and that we had the best athletes at every position they would play all year. I thought he was pretty respectful.

Next time you see your uncle, you tell him thanks for his service in Vietnam, and that you appreciate that Iraq and Afghanistan are romps in the park compared with combat duty Vietnam.
FWIW, I think Patterson was pretty fair, given his perspective. He wasn't saying that the game should have been 27-27. He was saying that of the 37 points LSU scored, 10 were "gifts" and his team did well to hold LSU to 27 "legit" points. Now maybe he is right and maybe he is wrong about the "gifts". But his point was to praise the effort of his team, pure and simple.

Yeah I thought so too, just thought it was odd that he said the difference in the ball game was we gave them 10 points, when the fumble inside our 10 was the biggest gift of the game. Also he said that the reason he punted on 4th and 2 was because he thought that they could stop us cause they had stopped us the two drives before that. No they didn't. We had just scored and had the momentum.
