Now that summer is over and the season has started, how tall is Garrett and what's he weighing? I'll hang up and listen.

hopefully wild man will either confirm or deny my claim

Thanks Redfield! If true, that's awesome! Actually, if true, it seems he and Clapp both might be growing into OT's. And if so, instead of asking what OT is out there if CRob does in fact choose Bama, we should maybe ask what interior lineman we can go after.

If he's 6'6 then he must have grown a good bit since I graduated. He was about 6'3" (rough guess) 2 years ago

Last update I have on Brumfield is 6'4 285

That seems pretty accurate. He's not 6'6". He is probably 285

He looked good on Friday wildman. For the brief time the starters were in.

Wild man,
Can he play left tackle in college? What are the coaches telling y'all on that front?

That is great to hear, Wildman. I know Tiger fans who follow recruiting greatly appreciate the example and leadership he has shown & will certainly continue to show both on & off the field.

quote:He plays LT right now in high school. He has only played OG one season and that was his sophomore year due there being a senior already playing LT at U-High. He has been told that he has the arm length of a 6'6" player right now. And I'm 6'5 1/2" myself, so I really believe he will at least catch if not pass me in height. But if he doesn't grow another inch or two, I don't think he will be given the opportunity to show that can play LT. Almost all college coaches nowdays have this stereotype in their head that an LT has to be 6'5' or taller! Shorter players are rarely even given the opportunity to prove they can compete as an outside lineman. It's not just LSU but all the major programs think like this! But I know Garrett. He is going to push them to not pigeon hole him into only being labeled as an "interior lineman" as some have already! He hates when people doubt his ability based on what a fan, analyst, reporter, or even a coach says. Don't get me wrong, he is not against playing OG or OC, but he doesn't want to be put there because it's thought that he CAN'T play Tackle!
