Can Sweeting or Chris Carr push Corey White for a spot?

I think Sweeting makes it to the practice squad and get's on the 53 next year.

IAQ vs Jim Leonhard duking it out

After a rough start, IAQ has been improving in the last couple of weeks. He played well against the Texans.

Lelito all day son.

Dunno, but is Austin Johnson a possible threat to replace Jed? He has performed well.

I think if anything he get's Higgins spot and plays an H-Back/special teams role.

Yep.

Cadet vs. Robinson- Who hasn't liked the way KR has hit it? Not being PS eligible looks like Cadet's biggest edge

I could return kicks better than Cadet. Team Robinson.

Bryce is more of a complete player.

With the OLB plague in force do Rufus or Baraka make the 53? Both maybe?

From what I've seen, they both make it. Richardson has gotten more snaps, but I've seen nothing from him really.

quote:

Out of team neediness Jay Richardson seems more likely to make it to me. What say ye?

Probably so. His versatility helps him, but he doesn't bring a lot to the table.

quote:

Preston Parker and Glenn Foster have already played themselves onto the 53 IMO.

No doubt.

quote:

Parker might spell the end of Roby's long run keeping a roster spot as a gunner only.

Maybe I need to pay more attention, but it's hard for me to believe that Roby is THAT good at being a gunner, so much so that he's irreplaceable.

I thought I saw a quote (probably on here) where Payton said Foster is no longer playing for a roster spot but for playing time

He's in without a doubt

Olsen the edge fo sho

I would definitely not say that. They pulled him after a couple of series when he was giving up constant pressure on Brees. Lelito came in and they looked great after that. Gotta imagine it's at least 50/50 between those 2.

The stats tell me that birth rates tend to be higher in African countries.

Thanks for your question!

This one is a 3 way battle for 1 or 2 spots. Do we keep 4 or 5? We usually keep 5 but this season could be different.

quote:

IAQ vs Jim Leonhard duking it out

Based on snap counts for both defense and special teams, it seem IAQ may have the edge, or they are giving the younger player more snaps to let him try to win the job.

I also wouldn't completely count out Nelson. He's gotten the most special teams snaps and the 5th safety(if we even keep 5) will have to be a good special teamer.

quote:

Ther Eric Olsen-Andrew Tiller-Tim Lelito-Eliot Mealer throwdown

Based on who has played with what team and what happened Sunday I have to imagine Lelito has an edge over everyone, but Olsen is in second.

quote:

Dunno, but is Austin Johnson a possible threat to replace Jed? He has performed well.

Given the way we use our TEs and FBs we sometimes have them playing both spots so I think this is actually a 3 way between Collins, Johnson, and Higgins. I only see us keeping 4 TEs and FBs combined and we know 2 spots are looked in.

quote:

Tom Johnson looks endangered. I'm a Tyrunn fan

This isn't a positional battle. Either we keep 5 DEs or we don't and that will determine Johnson's fate.

quote:

Cadet vs. Robinson- Who hasn't liked the way KR has hit it? Not being PS eligible looks like Cadet's biggest edge

I like Robinson better and have had him mocked on my 53 but I just said last night if we want to keep both we have to keep Cadet on the 53 and PS Robinson. If they don't think Robinson is clearly better than they should take that risk and let him develop a year or call him up if we get an injury.

quote:

Bryce Harris-Marcel Jones shootout

Nothing to debate here. This has been over for 2-3 weeks. Harris jumped Jones on the depth Chart at RT and then Jones was moved to 2nd string OG after a couple of injuries to interior linemen.

Jones if have to think is PS bound.

quote:

With the OLB plague in force do Rufus or Baraka make the 53? Both maybe?

Definitely possible we keep anywhere from 4-6 OLBs(my guess is 9-10 total LBs). I think either Reddick or Johnson is headed to the PS as our PS LB but the other I think will make the roster.

quote:

Out of team neediness Jay Richardson seems more likely to make it to me. What say ye?

Definitely think he is the 4th OLB at the moment.

quote:

didn't mention ILBs... time to jettison Vilma providing a spot for a young guy like Reddick?

It'll be interesting to see if Vilma is IRed(they aren't going to cut him; not happening). You got 3 other guys that appear to be starter quality(not saying great) and Herring is a special teams asset.

Again do we keep 4, 5 or 6 guys here. I think 6 is too high and it'll depend on how many OLBs we want to keep also.

So I think Vilma's health and the amount of spots will determine is Reddick makes it. I think Reddick and R. Johnson are really competing with each other for the last LB spot.

quote:

Preston Parker and Glenn Foster have already played themselves onto the 53 IMO.

Parker might spell the end of Roby's long run keeping a roster spot as a gunner only.

What other competions are ya watching?

Foster is a no brainer, but I think WR is still pretty open. Special teams is very important so I wouldn't be surprised to see Roby back and I do think that's why Parker has an edge on Tanner.

But do we keep 2 special teams WRs? Do we keep 5 or 6 WRs? Lots of questions remain here.

Which Johnson? I think all 3 could be considered a surprise keep or cut.

I figured that was the one. Yeah Collins hasn't looked nearly as good but it's still possible we keep Collins and Austin over Higgins.

I saw a stat that said we usually keep 5 FBs and TEs combined and last year was the first we only kept 4. So it's possible that jumps back to 5 too.

In the end, most of these bottom spots will be for inactives anyway.

And sorry about that whodatfan! Will a beer make up for it?
